The OE short block consists of a new block, with new pistons, new crankshaft, all factory assembled to torque specs and ready for head, oil pan, ancillaries.

I have a picture of a big, heavy box.

This is a sample pic from the Internet, depicting a 1FZ in shortblock form.

THIS IS NOT THE NIB OFFERED.

IT IS BRAND NEW AND SHINY.

A $3,500.00 Mud price from either esteemed parts vendors, plus a good chunk of change in freight, offered at $3k shipped, a savings of $700-800 easy, maybe more.

The ONLY way to do a true and accurate OE engine rebuild, according to Mr. T, himself, based upon the fact that it's the only way to buy the brass bushing.

Great insurance for your beloved 80!!

Need?

No.

Want?

Very much.

Why?

I dunno.

But trying to convince myself!

Like to avoid that until it's sold, at least.

Posting merely to answer a question that continues to be asked, regarding what this is, exactly.

This is a new 1FZ short block. It was manufacture in Japan, by Toyota and is the only replacement option from Toyota for the components that are commonly referred to as "short block".

This is what came new from the factory, when US 80/450s were assembled new.

It is not rebuilt.

It is not remanufactured.

It is brand spanking new.

This thread may help explain more what a short block is:

I was incorrect on Mud price.

It's $3,100.00, plus freight, which is a huge chunk of change.

That said, I'll go $2,900.00 on this, with a $200 freight allowance in the price.

Fastenal is reasonable, but takes a while and will be a store pick up.

Gladly take all freight off and collect $2,700 and drop at a local terminal, if so desired.

Folks, please pay attention.

NIB is "new in box."

The pic above was to show what a short block is, since inundated with questions about it being a complete engine.

It is not.

It is a brand new block, which is the hunk of steel that combustion occurs in, that includes the oil pump bushing. This is the only way to get the oil pump bushing from Toyota.

It is brand new pistons, that are responsible for that combustion.

Brand new rods that do the same thing your own Rod does.

Brand new crankshaft that transmits power to the tranny.

Brand new bearings that allow all the motion to occur.

Did I say it's brand new?

All that, assembled to the same exacting tolerances on the same shop that built the 1FZs in your 80s, and that's in Japan, if you weren't aware.

This is the core of a healthy 1FZ and is the logical choice to use as a foundation for a rebuild, considering the expense of a rebuild and downtime associated with.

You transfer your goods over, with head work and master gasket kit (other items if you suffer from whike your in there, like I do) and your ready to run for another twenty years.

You can not buy these parts and pay to have the block torn down, boiled, bored, boiled again and reassembled for this kind of money, and it's all brand new.

Y'all, this is a block in a box.

This is what the box looks like:

This is the extent that box has been opened and peaked into:

There's not much else I can offer for pics of this shortblock, without removing it from the box, thereby destroying the box, because it's heavy, requires a picker to pull, and a brick chit house stand to hold.

No other pics are really possible, folks.

This isn't used part, it's NEW!!

D-Day people.

A final push to make up the deficiency in necessary Cruiser funds.

$2,700 is a steal and not entertaining offers for less. I'll keep it and dig up more coffee cans, if need be.

Don't miss out on this oppurtunity to save a sizable chunk of change that could be used towards an NIB head, or rebuilding your current head!!!

Bump for a great seller

If I would still have a 80 series I would be all over this......really when do you think another one of these pops up at reduced cost !
