let me know..i just need one.

not doing too good sourcing them. turn signal springs for a gm are the right size, but the wrong direction :frown: anybody need some turn signal springs for their gm

might be a few days, where in the door will I find this.

no rush. it's right on the latch on the front doors. if you look at the piece that the rod ...aw heck i'll get you pics

ok, here's a pic. probably won't look quite like this because i have a rh spring on a left latch (still works though). you can see where the spring goes on the bottom of the latch and where the mounting holes are.

if any of you can find a circa 70/71 MarkII or generic corona they had the same type of latches and lock springs. Wonder if that means they can be found at Toyota...common problem.

I pulled two a few years ago...for the latches prospectively...wish I had realized it is often the little things that count or I'd have pulled the 8 available then.

All that little spring does is hold the lock button up or down. It's a pain without it but not impossible to use the door.

Eric, thanks for the suggestion. I'm holding out on the junkyard solutions... something about replacing a bad 30 year old part with another 30 year old fatiguable part doesn't sit well with me;);)

Are there any Ace, Fastenall, Home Depot, Napa, etc type solutions?

Are they available new from the dealer? I'm not above doing dealer for that if I have a part number :D

Checked Autozone, Carquest, True Value / Ace and Toyota. No go so far. The 40 year toyota tech kew what it was without asking and said "only with the latch."

Parts guys said they would keep their eyes open. I don't know how much fatigue is a factor unless (1)there is rust or (2) the mech. is so gunked up it stresses a basically understressed spring. Still a number of people have had failures so it is common but at the same time my rust free 34 year old ones are still good."

I'll keep my eyes open.

Eric and Brett, thank you for the heads up... I'll keep an eye out and report back.

Eric, I'm probably being a little paranoid on the fatigue but that the same time, for $20, I should be able to fix all my doors with new stainless springs and not have to worry about pulling the doors for that in the future:cool:

Amen, I have to think there is a spring like that. So, many mechanisms (just in door latches alone) similar to identical.

Carquest did have one close...just a little taught, small and needing a final single bend.
