So, I bought my 60 last fall with plans to start going thru it to make it my dd. A year later and I am finally ready to start with the carb/dizzy. The PO installed a Weber 32/36, which seems gutless, as well as sputters alot.

I've made the decision to send my OEM carb and dizzy to JimC and have him rebuild and recurve. Anybody done this? I have read great things about him on mud, but wanted to get more input. Also, I am currently running a header, thoughts on a heat riser?

After I tackle this, onto the knuckles and rear seals. So I am sure I will have a ton more questions. Baby steps, right!

Thanks,
Phil

I run a weber and am very happy with it, but its a 38/38. I have not heard of many folks that were satisfied with the 32/36 on this application. If I had it to do over with I would have gone with the Jim C rebuild but I didnt realize that was an option at the time. I have several friends that have had theirs rebuilt by Jim. We actually have a carb that we pass around and use for rebuild. Each one sent the rebuild carb off and when it was sent back, it was installed and the current carb goes back into the parts pile. That way your not without your truck for a couple of weeks.

Have met jim in person and been to his house. excellent work will be provided.. Either Jim or Mark Algazy.

Thanks for the replies guys. JimC it is. On another note, thoughts on having the dizzy recurved at the same time? I am sure I would be ahead of the game having it all done at once, but would incurr downtime with the dizzy.

Thanks,
Phil

Jim has a dist machine at his shop as well. I'd holler at him and have him do both at the same time. if you need any further help let us know.

I have spare carbs at the house if you want to go the swap after build route. You will need to ID which carb is which tho.

Thanks man. I actually have mine all boxed up and ready to go out tonight. I have also opted to have JimC completely rebuild one of his dizzy's that he has in the shop, so no down time...at least not for this project.

Phil
