On a tool related note, what do some of you use to haul your tools in your rigs? I have an old back pack that I use, but am interested in upgrading to something else -- either a set of canvas tool bags or some of the smaller pelican cases. I'm finding that it's not always easy for me to locate stuff in the backpack.
I have tried to find a tool bag or hd bag to use for my tools that would fit the height of my drawer...with no luck. So I am going to try to bribe the bride into helping me make one out of hd canvas or nylon cloth...if it happens I will post. Basically I am looking for something about 18" x 10" and 7-8" high (so it fits in the drawer)...with a hd zipper running around three sides.

HomeDepot has some good bags on sale this weekend. How much are you looking to spend?

If you're creating a faq for tools, then don't forget the 54mm posts in the various tech forums etc. I got my 54mm OTC 1/2" drive for like $6 from www.tooldesk.com about 3 yrs ago. Bought several for friends etc too. :D

Is it ok if I play with tool in this forum?

No budget really...just want to find one that is well constructed and fits my needs.

Already hae one of those gear wrench sets for work(though they are not flexible). Love them. With Snap-On and Matco comming evey Wednesday and thursday, my tool $$ is usauly takin up by the end. Just got a Matco air brake bleader around 150$$(almost a 100$ less than Snap-On). And I think it's a little more powerfull. Will be getting this bad boy sometime next year(as i'm already filled up in my current tool box) too bad it has to be in black. Not looking forward to the price, but hopefully it'll be the last box I buy. And at least it's not like the Mr.Big they have for 16K

Wow, that tool chest is way cool. I guess if you wrench for living it makes sense to have one of those.

I'm trying a new torque wrench, I saw at Sears $89 on sale figure if I don't like it I can always return it.

I know I posted this in another thread, but it's probably better suited here:

For heavier items, I like to use Bagmasters bank and courier bags (available at www.bagproducts.com), sometimes called "flame barrier bags". They're expensive, but you'll only buy one set, as they will outlive you and your grandkids. Those things are unbelievably durable, triple-stitched straps, ballistic nylon, but flexible. They're weatherproof, fireproof, cut-resistant, practically bulletproof. I like to use bags because they conform to space, instead of dominating it. A box doesn't give; bags like these are more fluid, they fit into tighter places. Plus, they're easier to strap down, easier to extract, easier to access, easier to carry. During transport, they're silent, they don't bang up against each other, and their contents don't bounce around.

Got a Tap and die set from Snap-On last year. One of the better tools i've gotten. It's a us/metric set. Cant seem to find it on the Snap-On site..... I've used that thing a lot!

I bought a cheap Tap and Die Set at Harbor Freight, used it once and the piece I was using broke. I guess the old saying "You get what you pay for" is right because I only paid $4 for the set.
