I've got an 1994 Toyota Landcruiser FJ80 series. It's been out of commission for approx. 3 years due to a bad transmission. I'm ready to get it back on the road, so I'm hoping I can get help from this group. I'm not a full fledge mechanic, more of a wrench turner with moderate mechanical skills. Also not very computer savvy so I hope I can work my way thru the site.

Welcome to the forum :flipoff2:

There's a quite a few peeps here that are super savy on fixing these things.
The rest of us are just here to help you spend your money and support your poor finacial descisions.

Welcome!

@arcteryx is in the Austin area and may have used parts for you.

If you post your issues, what you've looked at and what you've done, we can berate you for being an idiot, then help get you back on track.

Don't take it personally, we do it to everyone. Just give it back...

When I bought my 97 it had a bad transmission, wouldn’t shift properly, it would hesitate bad between 1st and 2nd gear, couldn’t reverse up my driveway. Upon further inspection I discovered it was about 6 quarts low on trans fluid. I refilled it with Toyota ATF and she started working good again, I did a drain and refill with Amsoil ATF and she’s running great now.

Have a look in the classifieds section for parts too.

Welcome to MUD !!
