I picked up my LX about two months ago. I’ve owned several Toyotas over the years, including an 80 Series LC. I’m in the process of selling my property in Austin and relocating to San Diego. I also have a large-breed dog, and with my other vehicles either being over 50 years old or sitting on 40” tires, I needed something comfortable for driving cross-country to see family to/from San Diego and carting my pup around.

I’ve had my ultimate 100 Series build in my head for years, and it always started with a gray or white truck. Fast-forward several months of browsing and I shifted my focus to simply finding the cleanest one I could.

Lo and behold, I found a Eucalyptus Mica with 149k miles on it. There’s not a lick of rust underneath it—not even oxidation on the bolts under the hood. The paint is in excellent condition, and the only known flaws are the typical worn front seats and steering wheel, along with the display I simply can’t despise enough.

The AHC (along with every button, switch, light, and gadget) works perfectly, so I’ll be keeping it intact for my build and just adjusting the sensors. I’ve already started upgrading the headlights, swapped the steering wheel, added the GROM, and put a stock head unit back in place.

I’m a seasoned builder but have been on the bench for the past five years. Excited to have something to tinker with again. Plenty more mods and a build thread coming up!
