After months of researching and reading posts on Ih8mud and Clublexus, I settled on an LX. Needed a third row. Didn’t want a Mercedes GL as I’ve vowed to never own another vehicle with air bag suspension. Suburban/Yukon XL was too big. Escalades are too common. More importantly I wanted something that will hold up and last. A Sequoia is a bus and Platinums priced around LX570’s making the LX a much better value for what you get over the Toyota.

Finding an LX with the must have options (Luxury Package/Mark Levinson) with the right color combo (White/Silver/Gray exterior with Black interior) in clean condition at the right price (35k max for me) would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Waiting for one to pop up locally would most likely seem impossible.

A couple of vehicles in the south fit the bill, but interior was almond beige (no no for small kids) and I would have to get it shipped which would increase the cost. I talked to a well regarded broker and finding the right one could take months and his price would be about 37k for just the vehicle alone after fees and prep for a 13 with 100,000 miles.

Surprisingly, one recently popped up at a Lexus dealership 30 miles from me. No pics were up online yet but I saw in the description it was white exterior on black interior. I flew up to the dealership to check it out. It was still in the shop because it was just traded in a day ago. 1 owner older guy originally bought there who trades up for new LX’s every few years. I got them to take me in the shop to see it because if it was clean I would put a deposit on it right there because it surely would be gone at the advertised price. The truck hadn’t even been detailed yet but I was floored with how clean it was for a 6 year old car with 92k on the odometer. You could tell no kids, no pets, non smoker, no accidents, no dings or paint work, rear seats hardly sat in. Truck has a little surface rust underneath and some areas since owner moved to Delaware for a couple of years but nothing major at all or out of the ordinary per my mechanic and some forum members here. Dealership threw on a new Michelin and did the front brakes (rears were just done not too long ago) and did the 90k service. Luxury Package/Mark Levinson all options and remote start all keys and accessories. I paid a hair under 34k for the truck. Glad to be back with Lexus and the forums.

Congratulations on the truck. I bought a 2016 LC used in 2018, finding what you want used is a challenge. Like you I wanted silver, ended up with blizzard pearl. After owning it I really like the color. Enjoy it!

Welcome to the forum! That interior looks mint!

Thanks for all of the replies. I can already see this board gets way more traction than Clublexus for LX’s.

I recently found the same vehicle (except color). I mean same condition, mileage and price range. I’m a few months in, zero regrets.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I’m enjoying mine.

Yeah, I read through that thread awhile back. Looking through it now, there still doesn't seem to be as much noise from the later models, but as you say, it may be that a critical mass of >2012 models are only now bumping up against the mileage.
As far as I know the radiator part # is the same across all years—I could be wrong though. My 08 gave up the ghost at 110k, right on schedule.

Ugh. Yeah, I think you are correct. Probably just a matter of time before the later models start cracking. I am at 115 now and while I don't show any signs, I may consider doing the radiator, hoses, water pump, etc at the 120k mark.

Just received my 2013 LX570 with 20k miles and no cracks on the radiator for mine. It spent its life in Texas, I know there has been some discussion that the crack may be more related to environment/heat cycles than actual mileage.
