Hi everyone! It has been about a month since I sold my 99 LX470 with 149K and picked up a 2008 LC with 189K. I found LC here on Mud out of Mississippi with good records, a tough dog lift and no rust.

Here is what I have done so far (well not me but my cousin who is a tech)

New Toyota Starter.... Wow, that was a Major PIA.
New Radiator/Belts/Tensioner/Pully/Fan Clutch
New Grabber ATX 275 70 18 tires
Amsoil Severe Gear in Front/Rear/Center diffs
Throttle body and injector cleaning
Second key
Complete wax and polish
Interior deep clean of leather with conditioner

Still to go
Amsoil Transmission exchange with new filter
New plugs and coil packs
Brake fluid flush
Power steering flush
Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform
25% or 30% ceramic Tint

Going on our first camping trip in a few weeks to Canyonlands Utah. I will be sure to post some pics.

I have 210K miles on my LC and they were worry free for me (I did 100k miles). I think 300k should be no problem, not sure after 400k. My car does feel nice to me. I think coilovers are key to a suspension that feels new all the time. Springs start to sag eventually and feel crappy.

Alright, so finished everything on my list. The ATF exchange went smoothly and I am very surprised for 190K how good the fluid actually was. Tons of records when I bought the rig, no flush done and judging by the pan I doubt it has ever been dropped.

I did the plugs and coil packs and there was a small amount of oil in the plug wells so Valve Cover Gasket and Spark Plug Gasket will be in the near future

Power Steering flush was very easy and needed to be done.

The Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform is amazing and freed up so much camping gear.

Went with a 20% all around ceramic tint.

Here are a few pictures. We are going to Canyonlands Utah this weekend, so should have a few more good pics.

Please post up your PS flush process.

We put cardboard boxes under the front wheels so that we could freely move them side to side.... with my lift it is easier than getting them off the ground.

Pulled the hose right in front of the reservoir that is coming from the system and placed it in an old OJ bottle.

Placed a large funnel in the reservoir and made sure it created a good seal.

Two person job.... One person to turn the steering wheel left to right. The other to watch the new fluid going in and the old fluid coming out. Did this several times until we went through 2qts and the last of the fluid was clean.

DO NOT TURN ON THE RIG!!

So the truck was off the whole time? Simply running the steering rack back and forth will exchange the fluid in the rack even when the pump is stationary?

Yes, I was as surprised as anyone... Someone on here did a write up on it. I was skeptical but it worked.

Completed replacing the Valve Cover Gaskets and Spark Plug gaskets as there was a little oil in the spark plug wells... Here are some pictures from Canyonlands... Didn't have time to go on any trails.. when you have 13 people, 7 of which where kids... it tends to get hectic.

Oh Yeah... Crazy encounter was the outpost just outside the needles district that was charging $6 a gallon for gas... If you need it, you can get it.. LOL.

Just a FYI... I just went through researching window tints for the front side windows and was going to go ceramic too... When I got to the tints shop they had ceramic tints to sell me, but they let me know the ceramic tints have a different hue/color than the factory tint... So I got a very high quality vinyl tint that is the same hue as the factory color range... The vinyl's tint's heat rejection is not as high as the ceramic's, but it is an improvement over stock... I think the front I put on was a 35%+/-... I think the factory back windows were 21%+/-...

I am very happy with my Ceramic Tint at 20% all around. I didn't like the stock greenish hue that the rear windows had. Now it all looks even, which is what I prefer.

Interesting... mine is a 2013, I wonder if they changed the tint color between 2008 and 2013??? I kind of remember tint being a factory option or part of an upgrade package in 2008, does that sound right to you??? I'd say the 2013 tint is more black than green... Did you re-tint all 7 windows???

So A few updates since the main work was been done
Brake Fluid Flush
Fuel Injector Wiring Harnesses on both sides (Anyone else have to replace this?)
New Front HAWK LTS Brakes
TRD Pro Triple Bronze wheels
Replaced the rear parking brake shoes
Replaced the Passenger side parking brake cable
Resealing the Heat Exchanger in the Valley this weekend

Are you running spacers with the TRD wheels? Anyone know if they are less offset than the factory LC 5 spoke?
Same as 2016+ factory 200 wheels. (54) Rock warriors get you 50, but other than that you have to go aftermarket or compromise with spacers.

Time for an update on some work. i started noticing a small little squeak coming from the glove compartment that changed with the speed of the HVAC fan. Did some research and ordered a new Blower Motor and replaced that this weekend. I have had this rig for almost two year and have put 15k miles on her. She has been great on the trails and on camping trips loaded up with the family. Can’t wait for Summer!
