Hi all

Just collect my new LC100 yesterday.

It’s a 1HD-FTE LHD Spanish car…

The good:
minimal/no rust….
LHD
1HD-FTE engine

The bad:
it’s been owned by 2 previous Spanish guys who’ve not bothered keeping any history for previous work, bar the last service.
Plus theres a number of issues I’ve got to sort: front left fender has a paint stain from a rusty gutter dripping on it over time, dirty interior, carpets are filthy, 3 damaged door cards, many dash bulbs not working, intermittently working fuel/voltage gauges, drivers seat electrically goes up (but not back down), rear door doesn’t lock/open when it should, pax seat buckle gets stuck, CD player inop/stuck… then there’s a clunk in the transmission when you accelerate and changing from D to reverse etc. Also, noticed Low Range is stuck in high…. plus a wining noise from engine (belts or vacuum issue or both, tbc).
It’s a bit of a project to say the least.

It was about half the price of all others on the market though which is why I’ve taken the risk…

Already bought filters, oil, front/rear wipers, complete set of bushes (Polybush UK), 5x OEM refurbed wheels.

Hopefully there’s no nasty surprises…

Bienvenidos!

I love 🇪🇸 even more than Land Cruisers.

If by “bush” you mean “bushings,” and you bought poly ones, re-think it and read on the topic here.

Hi

Yep, it’s alright here.

I’m concerned about the ride quality afterwards….so went for these:

KIT 123

Their ‘grades’ explained:

Specifically this bit:
————————————————

When There Are No Options Available:

Where hardness options aren’t available, we’ve carefully chosen a material that provides the ideal balance of performance and comfort for your vehicle. Modern vehicles are engineered with tight tolerances and precise alignment requirements, which demand a harder bush with minimal deflection. To meet these needs, our “Performance” grade material is designed to match OEM specifications.
—————————————————

Spoke to them about not wanting a harsh ride and they’ve said these should be OEM spec - it’s just they haven’t got round to updating their website. The “Performance” tag they have is misleading.

We shall see…

Since this is a “welcome” thread, maybe let’s not sideline into another poly-vs-rubber discussion here.

But, I’d encourage you to use this forum to research and ask (if you haven’t done already) before you install. Here is one thread on the topic.

Most importantly, have fun driving and learning about your new Land Cruiser!

Fair enough.
I reckon with this LC, going with OEM or Poly will be an improvement - there’s a fair few knocks and bumps right now.

My Prado 120 in comparison is a gem. But it only has 82000km and I’ve owned it since 15000km.

Congratulations on your purchase! It definitely looks good... at least from a distance ;)

I bought a similar car here in Spain, also the cheapest I could find, and am currently sorting out all the issues that had been overlooked over the years.

From your picture I assume you are in the South, but If you are ever near Madrid we can meet and discuss our respective cars.
