Pick me up a size large Iron Pig t shirt. I burned too many holes in the last one.

Order your own ... I can't afford it.

Pretty much just blew off work today and eased on down to Fredericksburg. Got to Iron Pig lil' after noonday and Vince was sittin' 'round poutin' since my truck was gone so he put 'er right back into his lil' designated area. :grinpimp:

Put a real front driveshaft in 'er from Tom Woods to replace the first one he had mis-measured.

Swapped out the juices in the Atlas and ProRock 80.

... and fawked around and actu'ly got all them shifters to work for the Atlas. :bounce2::cheers::bounce2:

Headin' back in the mornin' for a last bit of lovin' before I head West into the blizzard. :steer:

Meant to get some pics of my bike on the rear end but it just didn't work out quite right. I'll try again tomorrow. It looks really gay stickin' straight up in the air ... but will all make sense once I get the camper on. :meh:

:flamingo:

So here's the bike. :lol::lol:

When I first pulled outta Baltimore yesterday, she weren't ridin' too good at all.

The spare tire on the bumper carrier has some expected movement as ya bounce along. But the highly modified bike carrier was bouncin' way too much in addition to that. Sorta scarey actu'ly. So whipped the ol' truck over on the interstate shoulder and went to work. Dug me out a heavy duty ratchet strap form Mac's Custom Tie-Downs that was left over from the scooter trailer. Took a wrap thru the center of the spare tire/wheel, around the bike, and around the carrier. Cinched it up tight and away I went without incident.

She'll ride a lot better once she's tucked up tight behind the camper to block the wind. :meh:

Can also see I swapped out the two gas cans in the bumper carrier with two water cans. :D

:flamingo:

Got the sexy new winch hawse installed on the front bumper and I personally installed a super-pimpin' black license plate frame.

Looks great but when I took pics, the damned flash reflects off the license plate so bad ya can't see nuthin'.

If this planet ever sees sunshine again I'll get some pics. :meh:

So this mornin' was spent doin' the final check-off items. Torquin' down the beadlocks and lugs. Addin' some paint here and there. Straighten' some s*** that was crooked. Miscellaneous-type thangs.

Tim did a phenomenal job of tastefully addin' some grip tape so I don't bust my ass gettin' in 'er. It's a pretty big step up. And also on the cover for the top-secret compartment on the rear bumper ... which is gonna be the front step for the camper.

I'm sure most of y'all have seen Butch's MOST-impressive tool chests full of an unbelievable collection of Snap-On tools he's got down there at Baker Tire.

Well ... young Vince ain't quite there yet.

But he sure does a fine job with his 3 adjustable-end wrenches from Harbor Freight. :flipoff2:

:flamingo:

So that's it ... the truck's sittin' dead-on-ready out in the hotel parkin' lot while I'm doin' laundry and studyin' maps of how the hell to find Denver from here.

It was truly a tearful partin' today as they forced me outta the shop a coupla hours ago.

They were cryin' tears of joy to get shed of me ... and I was cryin' over the bill. :flipoff2:

So now the mission is simple ...

Go West young man ... go West. :steer:

:flamingo:

Get to driving. We need to see that camper.

Whats wrong with Harbor Freight?

What amazed me the most is that the you'al white folks are buying there...

us Mexicans dont have much money to spend on tools but Harbor Freight does it...

a lot of the junck they sell it's from China and breaks EZ but it gets the job done a time or two, after that it goes on the trash can... and back to HF to buy more tools, even if it's the same one:hillbilly:

Since I drove I-20 from Odessa to DFW in that god-awful ice storm on Thursday I'm curious....
How's it handle in the snow and ice?
:-) Nick

Not this white folk. :D

Safe travels Kowboy! Looking forward to seein' the camper on her.

Thanks Mike.

Reckon I'll find out tomorrow.

Made 615 miles today to Bumfawk, Indiana. 20 friggin' degrees and snow all over ... except the roads.

Reckon gonna be a dif'rent story tomorrow tho as I continue to head West.

Truck runs so much like a stock truck I 'bout busted my ass gettin' outta 'er when I forgot how tall she is. :grinpimp:

The hidden value of Vince's work is the fact that all the s*** works ... speedometer, lights, gauges, idiot lights, etc. I know the speedometer was especially troublesome for him but all his effort is VERY much appreciated. :bounce2::cheers::bounce2:

Maybe shoot for Kansas City tomorrow ...

:flamingo:

Now I know why the previous owner never drove the truck in the winter ... 'cause the mother fawker won't start. :bang:

Just ran an extension cord into the hotel to plug in the block heater. :hillbilly:

Reckon I'll give 'er 'bout an hour then might have to walk somewheres and get a can of startin' fluid.

So much for an early start today ... :crybaby:

Damn that sucks....are you on the road yet?

Are the glow plugs not working?

sir so sorry to hear that!

Keep in mind the weather does not help at all, even down here is cold, so I am not surprise that the Stupid Duty can't start...

plug 'er in and I bet she'll start... also don't forget to put the additive in the tank so the diesel wont become gel....

it's important to keep the diesel liquid, instead of gel...

Keep on trucking sir!

It's all good Folks.

So after several unsuccessful attempts to fire 'er off this mornin' ... I broke down and read the manual. I carefully followed the "cold weather start-up" instructions ... meant for temps below minus 12.

Bull**** ... plus 20 degrees and she wouldn't fire off. :bang:

So I ran me my extension cord right into the friggin' lobby and plugged 'er in ... after I unplugged the Christmas tree to free up the outlet. :grinpimp:

Thank goodness I was within a hun'erd foot.

The lil' fella workin' the front desk was sorta amazed at the whole thang at 4:30 in the mornin'. He kept sayin' how pretty my truck was but I think he was checkin' out my ass. He made a fresh pot of coffee and proceeded to make alot of conversation. Since the front door wouldn't shut 'cuz of the extension cord, it started gettin' right chilly in the lobby. When he made the comment that his nipples were gettin' hard ... I went outside and hoped liked hell the ol' girl would fire.:eek:

And indeed ... she rolled over. Sounded like the pistons were bangin' off the hood for a minute or two but then started ratlin' like normal. I chunked my extension cord in the back and exited stage left. :D

I'm thinkin' the glow plugs work cuz I can hear 'em kick on and off and ain't got a "check engine light". Both my Dodges would start when it's cold. This must be a Ford thang.:rolleyes:

So now I'm settled in a room in Bumfawk, Kansas. The only advantage of Bumfawk, Kansas over Bumfawk, Indiana is that I'm now 620 miles further West.

Roads sucked today. Snow, ice, lots and lots of wrecks. But I just eased along. :steer:

Don't wanna get stranded here in the mornin' tho so I carefully selected a hotel for the night. Third one was the charm. Ground floor room with a window that actu'ly opens and is next to the parkin' lot ...

Tomorrow it's Denver or Bust ... weather be damned!!

Thinkin' I'm 'bout 500 miles or so away.

Now I know why normal people take deliv'ry in the summer. :grinpimp:

:flamingo:

That is indeed a F'n Old Rebuilt Dodge thang, especially 7.3's…..DO NOT EVER EVER EVER USE ETHER! Best case is you'll have to from now on, worst case is the glow plugs explode & you're pulling the heads, they may just be weak, but it's a fairly easy job to replace them………I had to plug my trusty ol Duramax in the other day for the 1rst time to make it crank…..@ 5º, even after cyclin the glow plugs 4X:mad: Be safe, see ya in a couple weeks! You still got some  inn my shop fridge
