Back to thread boys-- well after replacing a 'leaking, OME rebuilt calliper from the dealer - I took the rig for a boot to check the spindles -- seems to be tracking straighter than ever.

Next on the list -replace the bent alloy wheel I destroyed last November -it never ends...

yes you cant even tell its running in the rain. i cant believe brave hasnt found one for you . wouldnt one of those trucks be good enough. i have seen guys get skunked before though ,might want to simplify your want list in priority with a base . guy i bought my first diesel off waited a year, before he realized that he couldnt even order what he wanted from the factory .

The winter is usually better for sports cars and the summer for SUVs in the Japanese car auction market. After the approaching holiday latter this month "Golden Week" the summer season will start and more units will be coming to market to chose from. Also the auction sheets do not indicate if lockers are present in a truck so it can be hit or miss and the auction house charges 1000 yen to go look!
Apparently the Japanese market don't care about lockers, they just want a big safe SUV to drive - virtually none are wheeled. All vehicles are purchased sight unseen and the auction houses are liable if the auction sheet are wrong.

There was a locked (looks to be) 5 speed up in USS Nagoya on the 11th.
97, 1hd-ft, Lifted, big exhaust, grade 3.5C with 140k
Coming up on the 11th.....

Mark usually goes to the Nagoya ones (at least he did when I was buying) and sometimes could check the vehicle in person.

I have seen ones like that go by in the auction (some going for big bucks) but for whatever reasons he has not bid. Being over here I can't question his judgement.
Looking for lighter colour ( little easier on the bush rash) and auto - autos are better for rock crawling.
He only buys sight unseen now.

And with the auto you get the console fridge (well not sure about those "newer" model years to be honest). And as petty as it might sound, that console fridge really is quite awesome, especially on long road trips. We use ours lots, more than the ARB in the back

I did mine a few weeks ago. I need to get under and check toe-in though, as mine is still fairly vague in the steering department. Spindles, wheel bearings, and tie rods were all replaced so I know there's no slop there now.

Hey Jason, did you ever figure this out... When you say "vague" does it pull to one side? Or random side to side? Just asking as we've got more or less the same suspension and I've also rebuilt my front end, and I've never been able to figure out why it pulls slightly right...

It doesn't pull at all, just requires more correction that I'd like when you catch rain grooves or a cross wind. Not what I'd consider "razor sharp" steering.

My truck still wanders a bit with the wind and the ruts worn in the road after the full helping of front end fixes. I think when you hang 35s and a lift on these old tubs it is something one must become ok with.. The spindles did help quite a bit..

No steering issues for me. I often drive with my left thumb gently resting at about 7 o'clock on the wheel. I won't tell you where my right thumb is.

mine handles like a sports car till the tires break lose, brakes shudder at high speed quike stops ,but still tracks straight. and thats with 36 pizza cutters or 35.12.5 toyo's. but it could be that its my daily driver too.
