i moved mine up there too- the glare at night was annoying me on the steering column
Good job LC. That is the best mounting I have seen yet. I decided to go with the ashtray mount. The hardest part of the whole instal was running the wire under the dash. as far as the OBD port, I left mine accessable throught the fuse pannel (dont know if a shop will need to access it at one point). I unscrewed the two retaining screws and clips, placed the clips on the obd mounting holes and dropped the whole thing into the dash about 2". I admit I wanted to finish the project before the wife got home and If I was using my head I wouldnt have cut the fuse box cover to accomodate the 1/4" of sensor I had left sticking out. Oh well. The finished product looks great and It is an incredible feeling to know whats going on with your motor!
I owe everyone some pics. I'll try to get those up tonight.
anyone else having trouble downloading the IH8MUD app for Android?

what does the scangauge do?
the odbII port has an alternate mounting point so that you don't have to trim your fuse panel cover...![]()
I know now. I totaly screwed the pooch by cutting the fuse panel cover. I will look for another cover and do the job right next time.
Im learning. I am from the mini truck world and I guess i just got used to having to cut things up to make them fit.![]()
Thanks Man! I dont think I can say anything on here that hasn't been said, or do anything to my truck that hasn't been done, so I plan on jumping in on old threads and just being a jackass for my own enjoyment not to mention documentation.

where is the alternate ODBII port?
Also can you use both ports at the same time?
Ie either two scangauge units (someone has daisy chained them to get 8 display options at once)
But I would like the scangauge II plus a bluetooth ODBII scanner gauge to run onto a pc or android tablet.
Any thoughts?
