So I took my truck in for the seatbelt recall and while it was there I was informed that they would preform the new recall/ TSB "K0P" - which is a DCM reprogram to address issues with the 2016 (other years as well maybe?) Entune system.

I get the truck back and I can't really notice a difference in anything with the Entune system or anything else, but I do notice the screen no longer goes to night mode when it is dark - this is a bit of an issue as that sucker is bright - anyone know how to fix this or is this a Toyota dealer only level fix?

Thanks!

Did they just turn your headlight switch away from "auto"?

In my 13 there's a menu item under vehicle settings where you can change the ambient light sensitivity.

Is there any chance the Entune issue was to correct the "home" button problem where it always defaults to the nav screen after stopping and restarting the truck even though your last setting was the home screen? This happens in the 16+ models.

No clue - I always leave mine on Nav.

Yeah, new 2019 here...the NAV does not dim or change to dark background??? Annoying.

Doesn't look like its going to be a fix for the default screen.

Or you dimmer all the way up? I'm only good for the obvious solutions.

So I thought I checked this, but lo and behold I didn’t turn it past the detent. Good call!

Soooo I guess this thread is now just “Hey, new recall!”

I still don't see it. I am pressing the setup physical button and then selecting Navigation and scrolling all the way down?

Turn on the vehicle.
Hit setup
Then to the right is "display"
The it will have a button that says "day mode". -- turn this off.

I had the same issue when I picked up my LC after it went in for the airbag recall.

There is NO SUCH button on latest software.

The way to fix it is to use the DIMMER DIAL to the left of steering wheel. Turn to the right for brightness, but NOT to the max (past detent). If you go past detent (max brightness), then NAVI will be day mode all the time.
