It seems to me that if it was a fan clutch issue, it would be cool at hwy speeds (air flowing through radiator) and not when stopped. I was having this issue with my 80-series and it ended up being the radiator but it could also be the t-stat or the radiator cap. Did you replace those items too? I could be wrong, but that is my logic!

new t-stat not a toyota tho...and new rad cap also not toyota.....so you guys say those need to be toyota?

ps fan pulls great

you need to call Cruiserdan and get a Toyota t-stat! some of those with aftermarket t-stats will over heat when you use the heater, i am sure some one on here will even know the part# you need. but if not just call him he will know what you need.

not running heater

I went through a few t-stats and caps until I went to only using Toyota. Also make sure that the T-stat is installed correctly. The little hole needs to be at 12:00. Another thought would be see if there is a clog in the hose connecting the radiator and the overflow.

Again, my experience is with a Land Cruiser but it should apply.

fan silicon oil is already done fan pulls great
12oclock will do
why does it matter for an oem one do they work more crisp? just want to know I dont doubt they work better

he does not have the little hole! and so he does not understand. so here is the best i can explain it, Toyota stock T-Stats have 2 t-Stats in one housing, the reason why is that cooled off water from your heater core, closes the main stat causing your engine to over heat, so Toyota put a smaller secondary stat in that stays open, this keeps your engine from overheating.

this is with certain years of motors i believe i don't have this problem. I'm not running with the heater on
just wonder why a toyota t stat is better
and why the motor is running hot on the freeway maybe a better performance t stat will fix it

thanks all will get toy oem t stat :)

Wow for the love of god he is not using his heater, therefor he is not having the overheating issues due to that issue. More then likely there is air trapped in your system, this is very common in 22RE engines, it can take a bit to purge all the air out when you remove large parts of the cooling/heating system, I would bet that if you ran your engine with the cap off you would see bubbles, once the all the bubbles come to the surface add more coolant, repeat this until no more bubbles are seen, oh and make sure this is done with the heater temp at high, no need to have the blower on, you just want the heater valve full open. This is done at idle with the radiator cap off.

Actually do it at 2000 to 3000 RPM. At idle there isn't enough water flow in some areas to dislodge the air bubbles.

will do:) ...fun with radiators...... thanks guys///....
