Hello everyone,

I recently purchased my first GX. I am moving from a 100 series to the GX. Thought I would say hello.

Congrats and welcome to your new club!
Been there, done that!!
My wife and I both had our own 100 series, but LC's not Lexus.
I swapped mine out for GX460 (2013) and she got her "red" crewcab Taco 4x4!
Although we both loved our LC's, they were just getting tired.
Her LC had 288k, mine 155k, but you could drive across the country tomorrow if you wanted! Rock solid.
Just that the leather interior was falling apart from too many wet swimsuits from surfing and the paint was all burnt with most of the clear coat peeling off.
It was just time... And glad we did. We absolutely love our GX and have many overland miles with smiles on our faces!!

We were considering a Taco as well...I am amazed at all the supporting merchants that offer overlanding accessories for these rigs.

I Loved my LX, and it was hard to let it go. Lots of memories of course, even a trip to Slee Offroad for the AHC suspension swap.

Mine was starting to show its age as well. The rust was becoming more noticeable and beyond my comfort level throughout the undercarriage. It had the infamous upper and lower tailgate rust. However, mechanically it was bulletproof.

I am planning a slow build with the new GX. Going to baseline the fluids and tackle any mechanical concerns before I start the build.

Glad to here that you enjoy the GX coming from a 100.

You'll enjoy the road trips! My wife and I did a "lobster hunt" where we drove from our home in So. Cal. to Main looking for lobster a couple months backs when gas was dirt cheap. Super comfortable, solid, easy to drive, etc.etc.etc... Since I only had 9 days for the trip, we even did a little over 1000 miles in one day!

Yep, that sounds like a blast!
