I have been using the CARB Wavian Nato fuel cans and haven't had any problems with them leaking. I've logged about 5,000 off road miles with them being exposed to direct sun and temperatures over 100 degrees. That said, I DO NOT use the CARB pour spout that came with them. I use a super siphon to transfer directly from the swing out to the tank. The cans themselves do not vent or sweat like the plastic ones. In the high desert temps you need to be careful when opening due to vapor expansion.

I've got two of the old Wedco non-CARB, but like you with a swing out on the DS, I use a super siphon to fill the truck directly from the cans on the swing out! Works fantastic. Haven't lost a drip yet.
