Hey all, new member here. I got a 81 BJ42 sitting at home, not movable half torn apart. The usual project vehicle things. History on the vehicle is someone decided to do some really crappy half restoration and filled most of it with bondo, some horrendous looking welds and sketchy wiring. Then it came into my dads possession (midnightrider) and was used a wheeler/camping vehicle for 3 or 4 years. Sat for a while, then I decided i missed 4x4ing too much so now its one of my many projects. Looking foward to being able to go out wheeling with everyone eventually.

Some pictures of the cruiser before it was parked for almost a year

It doesn't look so bad...

Let's see who get's there 40 ready to wheel again first. Mine is together, just needs a diff swapped, knuckle rebulid, and a timing chain... and it's way down the list of projects.

Side note: Anyone know a good auto A/C shop that can repair lines and recharge a system?

Welcome Seth! I think I remember meeting you and your Dad on a run 2 or 3 years ago up near Duncan. Will be nice to see that truck get all fixed up.

Mine only needs a fan pulley, belt, frame crack repaired, rear leaf springs, change the rear leaf spring mounts, cut off the old rear bumper and put on the new one, finish putting together my SOA axles with 4 wheel disk conversion, lower diff gears, longer drive shafts, fix the winch, fix the air compressor, new winch line, new tires and probably more im forgetting  rod bearings in my daily/autocross car are pretty worn so if it doesnt blow anytime soon i may be able to finish the cruiser in a couple months.....maybe

My list was just the short version of what needs to be done to 4 wheel it... The whole list is much longer. From the sounds of it, you'll likely be finished first... :(

Welcome. Something tells me your dad can help out with those questionable welds!

Welcome! Gotta love the john Deere green 40's...look forward to having you come out to a meeting and or a club run. Feel free to come before the cruiser is finished, there is always empty seats to be had and beers to be drank, even cruiserless!

Not sure what age you are zandark, but even if less than 19 you can still join us at the 6-mile. We can just sit in the all ages section.
