Upon request, just wanted to introduce myself and my new rig. I'm recently a new owner of a '74 FJ55. Looking forward to cleaning it up.

Nice looking Pig!

yep, looks pretty clean from what I can see, it is what I can't see that worries me..........there can be some very unpleasant surprises under bondo and fiberglass :crybaby:

Yeah--I'm not looking forward to finding out what's up with my roof!

The best F-engine

Welcome to te trough. I have a 74 fj55 also. Just a heads up here. Does your 74 still have the original engine? If so there are things yuo should know. The 74 f is truly unique. It has the uppdates seen on the 2f without the increased bore of the 2f. Such as high compresion pistons yet still 4 ringed. Solid rocker shaft. Non-bypass oil filtration. I am probably forgetting some things. So think about keeping it.

74s and up to 76s seem to rust a lot less than later ones.....that is my very subjective and limited experience.......also the motor seems torquier? on the 74

Yeh, my '73 drives like a diesel--nothing like whiplash from downshifting!

Well, the black paint that you see is a single coat of spray paint applied directly over the original factory paint. I'm pretty sure that all major rust is already visible.

Awesome!! Yes, the 74 F engine is unique, and I love mine!:D Good lookin' pig!
