Build New LX 470 Build Thread

Hi Folks,

Just purchased my first LX 470 and am looking forward to documenting my build progress (mainly for myself)

It’s a a 2006 LX 470 in Galactica Grey Mica with 236,000 miles from a 4x4 Shop. AHC has already been deleted and an undercoating has been applied so it’s rust free.

I’m currently having the shop add some mods before I take the vehicle home. However, there have been some delays in sourcing certain parts (e.g. suspension, wheels).

Fortunately I was able to work a deal out with the seller to fix a few things for the asked price. The seller was able to fix the sunroof, patch 2 tears in the leather, and paint the roof (attached). I was also able to send some upgraded headlights over for install.

Excellent start.

Fair warning about those headlights, they will fill up with water eventually. Seals on them are very weak.

I know you've only had them a short time, but how do you like the headlights? Looking to upgrade mine soon as well. How did you select those ones vs others?

Concerned about the seals as another commenter said.

So far so good. Really like the look and the price. Hopefully they don’t get rained on anytime soon or else I’ll have to spend the money for the TEQ headlights

I tried applying a small amount of clear sealant to edges of the lenses and ended up reverting back to OEM+ headlights. If I was to do Anzos again, I would take the lenses off and reseal them properly.

Just got my Nguyen Works (@nguyen_works) rear bumper with tire swingout installed. I had the shop color match it to go with the Galactic Grey Mica. Super pumped to get my wheels & tires.

Also threw the Dr Kdss B.O.T.C.K on to hopefully improve the handling.

Up next will be a Lexus "TRD Pro" style grill; hopefully color matched as well.
