Interesting to hear another mixed / poor review on this tire. Out of curiosity after installing these tires was an alignment and a subsequent zero point calibration performed ?
In the past I have noticed the traction control/ABS kicking in More than usual after an alignment and before i had an opportunity to do the zero point calibration.
Yes I’ve had an alignment done and actually redid the zero point recently due to a chance in my lift last fall.

The MTS action was on Hells Revenge where it’s very steep, and weight comes off the front, so I’m totally unsurprised by it happening. But it was still unnerving. I did not experience it with the RGs, granted I didn’t run Hells on them but I did do Top of the World with the same setup, and my Nittos had 25k on them at the time.

Snow traction in my alley this winter was better with the RTs than with the RGs, so there is that…

The Kenda RT is still in production.
If Discount Tire or another major provider sold them I would have considered them. TBH I wanted a brand big enough if I destroyed one on a trail 1000 miles from home I could get a new replacement in a day

It’s a fair point, but I’ve always thought that if this was really a concern we’d all be on 285/70r17 or 275/65r18 or another truly ubiquitous size that would be in stock at any old tire shop. For sure they won’t have my 35” skinnies, and probably not 35x11.5x17 either.
I haven’t ever needed my spare, let alone needed a 2nd spare after that. I get it could happen, and does occasionally per reports on the olde internete, but it’s not real likely.

I did not notice a decrease in traction on Hells at Cruise Moab this year compared to my two previous times doing the trail on KO2s. I was happy with the new tires this year for the most part. I am definitely not light in the rear end of my 200.
