Hello board. First timer here. Family man with 2 young kids who needed a 3 row vehicle without going the minivan route. The only large SUV’s that excelled in bulletproof reliability was the Sequoia and Land Cruiser/LX. Sat inside the Sequoia and although it was spacious, I was not thrilled with the interior. Looking for something a little more luxurious. Began researching LX570’s a year ago reading through this board and Clublexus. Seems like a good knowledgeable mature group here.

I began to see how finding the right 2013-2015 LX at the right price with clean history and right color combo would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I began contacting brokers and looking at out of state vehicles which would incur shipping costs. Well let’s just say today I think I hit the jackpot locally.

Saw a 2013 LX with approximately 90,000 miles being advertised at a local Lexus dealer. Just traded in 4 days ago not even a pic up online. Description was white exterior with black interior (exact color combo I wanted), ultra luxury package with Mark Levinson and rear DVD entertainment for just a hair under 34k. I figured this was too good to be true and this truck must have some issues, cosmetic damages, smoked in etc. I drove an hour to the dealership it wasn’t even prepped for sale it was still in the shop. Salesman took me in the service shop to see it up on the lift getting serviced. To say this thing is clean is an understatement and it hasn’t even been detailed yet. Looks as if no one hardly sat in it. It is one owner who always purchases new every few years from that same dealer with extensive service records. Owner lived in Delaware and couldn’t have had kids or pets. No scratches, dings, obvious paintwork and smelled of fresh leather inside. Third row hardly ever sat in. New brakes, rotors 2 new Michelin’s and other 2 Michelin’s in good order. No wheel rash. Tech was about to do 90k service and personally vouched this truck was obviously well taken care of.

I will update with pics when I pick up the truck. Looking forward to joining the board!

Sounds like fun coming up! Make sure the tire tread depth is very close on those Michelins. If not, spring for 2 additional new ones. Good to have you on the board.

Delaware would be my only concern. I just went through this process buying my 2014. Get it on a lift and look for any rust. I always had the dealer send pics. Rust is the enemy of the AHC system. I was surprised how many "very clean" LX's had rust issues.

Also, pull the engine bay cover and look for the notorious cracked radiator. Not a big deal, but you don't want a 1K service item shortly after purchase.

Good luck and welcome!
