New guy question

Hello guys.

I have a question. I have moved to Italy and want to buy a 70. What is the main difference between the LJ and the Hzj? I have a line on a 1990 LJ 73 with 190,000 km. It looks clean with no rust and is bone stock, I like the clean canvas. Are there things to look out for? I'm new to the Landcruiser but not Toyota so and input would be great.

If you are looking for a specific model to ask questions about I suggest you look at the 70 series registry and see who has one and PM them directly.

Stay away from L engine iterations IMHO.

Get the newest truck you can find with the 1HZ engine in it.

Hello,

The LJ73 deserves a look. Check whether the engine is a 2L or a 2L-T/2L-TE. The latter have a turbo and a bad reputation, mostly because of its use on the LJ78/LJ79 models. If it is a 2L, it may be worth a try.

Otherwise, look for a Cruiser with a 1HZ engine.
