Appreciate the reply! Yes - she’s a 96 w SC. Looked like the original fan clutch that I removed (or extremely old) and I replaced with the orange hub since the SC install.Details of your vehicle would help.
Looks like an orange hub clutch and you're running a supercharger? If so, and the previous clutch was also orange hub then I'm guessing the original clutch was a modified version that @landtank sells but you replaced with an unmodified OEM which would reduce the clearance.
Dang - just realized I’m not supposed to be using the spacer - that’s my issue.Appreciate the reply! Yes - she’s a 96 w SC. Looked like the original fan clutch that I removed (or extremely old) and I replaced with the orange hub since the SC install.
The Landtank bolts are shorter than what was on the original clutch. Much shorter, I’m guessing because the “stem” of the Orange Hub is longer than OEM one and that would offset it? Not sure. Regardless they’re not long enough to catch the thread on either side of the connection. I’ll try using the originals and see if that’s an issue.
Also - gotta say - I haven’t worked on a car for 20+ years since helping my pops restore an old Tbird. Working on this 80 is a humbling experience, that’s for sure!
100%. You guys had it written in the description and I totally forgot. Making some progress now.The studs on the orange fan clutch is shorter because you don’t use the spacer any more.
