As I continue to baseline the new to me 1998 Land Cruiser, I’d like to replace the 28 year old exhaust. Has anyone had experience with either of the brands available on Amazon and pictured below? The Borla exhaust looks amazing in stainless steel but at $1,300 is too rich for my blood. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated.

People have had good experience with Northeastern brand, or you can wait till the next 25% sale and get an OEM one. I'll probably go with the Northeastern.

I can't recommend Northeastern Exhaust based on my experience. The exhaust blew apart after 2 years on my stock 4Runner.

I think it depends on what you want. If you want a quiet ride, pony up for OE and it will last another 20 years. If you want her to have a little bit of growl, the Borla is going to be your best quality option. The least expensive option is to find an old school exhaust shop in your area that bends tube and go with a Flowmaster 40 series and some custom bent pipe out the stock location. I ran a flowmaster for years and was going to replace it with the BRExhaust but there was a two month lead time for it. I took a chance and went with the Revel Exhaust and was happily disappointed with the drone and ended up needing to put a resonator on it to chill out the 2100-2400 rmp teeth rattling drone.

Sounds like I’ll be stacking some coins for the next 25% off sale and go OEM. Appreciate the input.
