congrads on the purchase, sure looks like nice wagon
would like to check out one of these days, when you're not too busy

need more pictures :bounce:

Thanks fellas!

It's looking like my new toy is going to be getting a new head gasket in the next few weeks :o

Here are a few I took the other day for inspirational purposes so I could plan the interior storage.

Here's a quick run down of the cool stuff:

  • 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser 75 series Troop Carrier
  • 1HZ inline 6 cylinder naturally aspirated diesel
  • H55 5 speed manual transmission
  • Factory Limited Slip rear axle
  • Leaf springs all around and they appear to have a 2in lift over stock
  • Factory snorkle with Donaldson large pre-cleaner
  • National Luna dual battery setup with 2 Odyssey batteries up front and a group 31 Sears/Odyssey battery in the rear.
  • Custom fuse box in rear
  • Extreme Outback High Output compressor & 2gal tank in rear
  • Pioneer cd player with aux input
  • 4 new speakers
  • 4 custom bucket seats with custom frames/mounts by Safari Pacific, this allows a pass through from the front to the back of the rig. Also gives stadium style seating to the rear folks so they can see out the front & sides easily
  • Triple layer soundproof & insulation done to floor/roof/walls
  • Custom rear storage/sleep setup for 2.
  • Custom rear bumper with swingout for the tire & propane tank
  • 3 Rigid LED light bars, 2x6in & 1x10in
  • 33×10.5x15in BFG AT’s
  • National Luna 52L Weekender Fridge/Freezer

Plans for the winter are to do a bit more maintenance, primarily the head gasket, and install some of the many spare parts and bits that were included with the rig from the previous owner.

Once I get her reliable, I'll be messing around with the rear storage system to see if I can get some more usable sleeping room out of it with a better solution for our pup to ride. Right now he sits up in a captains chair, which my :princess: doesn't like too much.

The rig is set up to haul 4 people and their gear very comfortably, and I think I'm going to build up some sort of platform in the rear with storage that can be extended over the 2nd row seats when they are folded down.

More to come!

You guys are more than welcome to check it out any time you'd like, though I'm not driving it very much until I take care of the head gasket. I'm still debating whether or not to drive it up to the meet & greet in Puyallup, but we'll see.

I was watching the POs build on that truck, it is a nice find:cheers:

Thanks Alex!

This is by far my favorite Land Cruiser ever, and I knew I had to make things happen when Lance put this up for sale. It took a few moving pieces, but it all worked out in the end!

The Troopie will be heading up to Tor (Toyota Off-Road Fabrication | Home) on Monday afternoon for a head gasket job. Once this is done I'll have 100% peace of mind as to it's readiness for extended backcountry travel.

I'm planning a pretty good trip for this summer that will take me throughout the backcountry of Oregon, so I'll need the Troopie in tip top shape!

That would be wild if there was another one around here...

Mine was parked a few blocks up the hill from the Uhaul... if the Uhaul you're talking about is kiddy-corner to a Safeway, that's me!

I've got a studio apartment in that area for school (go to UWT) so I'm there from M-Th, usually.

yep, it had to have been yours then - nice ride!

The Troopie is home and running like a champ!

After her recent surgery, I've decided to shed her previous name "OzWagon" and name her Sydney. Not only is that an Australian city (never forget her roots... which is why the ash tray is full of Oz coins) but it's also the name I decided I would give my daughter if I ever had one. I don't plan on having one, but something tells me if I did I would feel the same way about her as I do my Troopie :)

So, Syd is home and in the stable, awaiting some parts from Australia, and after Monday, from American Toyota.

I was bored, so I hooked up a new toy I got this afternoon. It's a 7" USB touch screen that I can run from my laptop (which will be secured in a side panel) and use for my navigation software.

If anyone is interested in the set up, here's a more in depth write up on my website: http://michaelpkelly.net/wagonswest/?page_id=153

Enjoy the furry brown dash!

Unfortunately, no... all I've got are the 4 captains chairs it came with.

Interested in hearing your plans for jump seats though... :hhmm:

Top secret. I'll show it to you when done.
