New cluck thud noise in all gears (1 Viewer)

So I think I have found the source of my noise, speedometer, or something connected to it. There were also a few loose cables that came out of the their hinges, placing those back and noise just disappear.

That was the good news, bad news is I don’t have a speedometer anymore. Anything over 30 miles speedometer just goes to the max and stay there. Now it makes a really strange whiny noise.

I need to take a moment and figure out how to re-connected or disconnected speedometer completely.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you all.

Getting the cable hooked up to the odometer can be a beech. It is possible the inner drive cable is jammed off to the side of the speedometer collet. That can cause a noise and the needle to stick. So maybe all you will have to do is pull the cable and then make sure the square end is in the collet before you secure the threaded cap.

Adding to my troubles. While cleaning stuff yesterday, looking for source of my clunk noise, I found this part just sort of stuck under radiator and under front grill mesh.
Anyone has any idea what it is, what does it do, or where it belongs, please?
This team was very clean and shiny as you can see it. No dirt or anything was on it, so I would assume it was inside something ?

That looks like a block off plate for the mechanical fuel pump.
I did check and, what I think the fuel pump is, it is a solid as a rock. Attached to the car call it permanently.

So I have replaced the odometer cable, and for one day it was noise free.
New cable did stabilize my speedometer, so nice to have a needle not jump all over the place.
However it is making a clunking noise again today. I guess the hunt for source continues.
