I drove my FZJ80 out from Northern VA to have twotonic do the Atlas I-6 swap back in April. He appeared distracted when I got there and I decided to drop this proposed project and parked the truck in Boise ID for two months until I could retrieve it. I haven't seen twotonic post much since this spring, so I certainly hope he and his family are well

Hi Dave:
It's reality! I have had a really tight travel schedule this summer and didn't know when I will get it back to the east coast again, so I left it with Christo for an extra four weeks to get the lockers and 4.88's installed because it was easier than the alternatives (and Christo and the crew have done a spectacular job as well). I drove it last month in Denver for a day and it has like Christmas morning around here, knowing there is a package under the tree waiting to be opened. I will fly in late next week and pick it up, then drive it out to Henderson NV where I will leave it pondering the next road trip.

The 2UZ V8 that Slee installed is awesome. I picked up the 2UZFZJ80 and drove it from Denver to Henderson NV on a shakedown cruise. The motor ran well, much more usable torque and HP in the higher rev range and no surprises. I passed all of the big rigs while going up hill along the way (exact opposite from when I drove it out from VA). All of the gauges and controls, cruise, air con, etc worked like factory.
Unfortunately, I was not able to ever find out from TwoTonic if he was still installing the Vortec I6 into cruisers, and I can't recommend his work without personal experience. I can definitely recommend Slee and crew. Joe Risavi did really great work, and Ben, Christo, Joe and the floor crew were right on top of everything!
Got around 16.5mpg per scangauge 2 and gas receipts/calculator during 750 mile trip. I have the yellow box installed to correct for 4.88 and 285/75 16's, so should be pretty accurate.
Christo quoted just north $15k before he started, and it was pretty close to that. That price included mild rebuild/reseal of the 4.7 2UZ, 99 Landcruiser ECU (still looks like LC to Smog OBD guys) and the transmission that came with the 2UZ, custom exhaust manifolds and stainless steel exhaust with magnaflow and dual cats/O2 sensors, full trans/transfer case skidplate, and a whole lot of other little things that go into a swap that looks like it came from the factory.
The swap was a 4.7 L V8 from a Tundra or LC 100 Series into an earlier series FZJ80. It is available at Slee Offroad in Denver, CO. Took about 1 month to do- don't know about the turbo, but you could contact Slee Offroad directly for that information!
The owner of the 69 camaro in Aug CC has the engine up for sale, Jeff got hooked on boost an wants more so he is building a full on late 4200. Aiming for 700hp. Look on inliners.org in the swap section for details.
I haven't heard from TT either so I have no idea whats up there. He just stopped responding to emails.
