It is not an M416. They have the angled fenders.

What you have is an M100. The lunette that you need is the same as the one used on the M416 (and M101 CDN) and can be bought thruogh many of the Military Surplus sites that handle the 1/4 ton trailers. The lunette ring sells for about $100. Try Owens Export Service, they are Northwest of LA.

Who made the m100 ? and any idea as to the year of this ? it has 1 tire that says pynsilvania 1952 on it ? the other is a goodyear , the guy i bought it from said it was a 1951 ? also i paid $700 for it, was this a DEAL or NO DEAL ? ( sorry for the pun )

Cheers ....

Fenders are not original. Not sure but it appears to be a 416.

the handles on the corners, the four tie downs per side, the park brake, the round fenders all id this as a M100 1/4 ton Military trailer.
civilian Bantams had three tie downs per side, no park brake, no external handles. the civilian bantam trailers had a factory tailgate with bed reinforcement on the back of the bed. they also had three stake pockets per side on the upper inside of the trailer bed. civilian trailers had a ball hitch where military used a lunette and pintle hitch.
WWll 1/4 ton trailers had a different handbrake.

nice M100 trailer

Great trailer, looks straight not to many dings. These are nice 1/4 ton trailers I pull my 1943 MBT every where. I used it to hall trees, fire wood and runs to home depot. I also put a tent on mine to keep me of the ground when I go fishing. I hate sleeping on the ground! OUch
Nice find!:grinpimp:
