Found some 315/75/16 BFG ATs and some steel rims for a good deal so I went and picked them up last Monday.

I was able to clean them up over the weekend. Above pic is after some steel wool and a good wash.
I was able to swing by The Beacon Drive In Restaurant Spartanburg SC and get a "Hash a Plenty"

Finished rim, turned out great, I did 3 coats of clear gloss too, so hopefully they will hold up, if not I can always touch them up.

Now I have to figure out how to get them to fit. :bounce:
Considering SAS & Chevy 63's. No way they are going on in the current height unless I cut a lot.

I have some BJ spacers and other front end parts lined up, but my front end needs a complete rebuild. In looking at prices of some of this stuff I think I can SAS for just a little more $.
I need to check it out though because one of my BJs is completely gone, the 285s seem to make it worse. Gearing needs to be done as well as I dont see the 315s going well with 4.10s. The 22re and clutch already doesnt like the 285s, I cant imagine what it woudl be like if I had not put in the Marlin HD clutch.

man I wish mine we an extra cab, nice truck.

You're right at the fork in the road with ifs mini trucks: do I or don't I????

Everyone (sas guys :flipoff2:) always says don't throw $$ at the ifs and in general I've become a true believer in this, but it all depends on what you're doing with the truck.

If you dd this truck I wouln't sas it until you're damn sure it's the right thing to do. the IFS defintely has some advantages on the road, better handling... ok, only 1 real advantage.

If you're gonna wheel the truck the go ahead and SAS it. All the ifs guys just got the panties in a knot but honeslty the differences are huge especially for the $. The ifs is not going to like the 35s, many have done it for sure but it will ultimately turn into a parts swap party. In particular the idler arm, it's one of the weekest parts in the setup and will give out if you wheel it hard, I went through 4 in 2 years on 33s before i did my sas.

Here was my all home brew recipe: hybrid front pack: RUF + 2 f-150 leaves, home made front spring perch, F150 springs in the rear (built 6 leaf pack), hi-steer (TG arms, shc. 40 drag link and tie rod), Marlin fj80 tie rod ends, square front drive shaft, home made front and rear shackles, U-bolt flip and shock towers.

In the end a kit would've been a little cheaper and a lot easier but I wanted to have it done my way and could not be happier with the setup.

keep it up, nice rig!

Getting the itch for something different. Going to see if I can move this and let the next person continue the build. If I cant get it sold then I will start o a few other things I want to do to it.

Well she is gone. Sold her Tuesday. Guy says it's going to Guatemala. I told him to send me pics and it would make my day. Now to find a replacement. Thinking something bigger for the family. Time to update my sig and get some of these extra parts sold.
