Spent some time 8/15/2026 starting the desmog, pulled most of the vacuum lines and got the air rail off and plugged. Most of the time was spent on the air rail which came off with minimal issue. The biggest issue was reaching the 6th air injection plug at the rear.
Fought with the rear part of the air rail for a bit, even tried to get the engine block hook off only to remove the wrong bolt instead. Then I had an 'Aha' moment and realized I could remove the rail from the plug, giving myself more room for access.
So got the air rail off and all the plugs in place then called it a day. Next step will be getting @HemiAlex over to help finish up the desmog & replace the carburetor. Alex also suggested going ahead and doing manifold gasket while we've already got it disassembled this far, so the Remflex gasket kit arrived yesterday. Once we get these things taken care of it, the mechanical stuff should be mostly sorted. I'll eventually get to replacing the AC components and focusing on rehabbing the interior.
