I'm trying to locate the Toyota part number for vacuum hose (FZJ80) or the metric size equivalent. I've never been able to find anything that fits correctly locally and I've heard it's a non-standard size.

Anyone?

Brett,

There are at least two sizes, maybe three. I matched mine up at O'Reilly. FYI

This is a good question as I need to replace mine since they are pretty brittle. Is there a diffrence between the OEM houses and the aftermarket?

the originals are letter coded for easy tracing, the new OEM hose is not, I use parts store "inch" hose, I have never seen metric hose for sale, it is tight fit, better tight than loose, I mark them wire marking stickers to retain the tracing ability.

metric vacuum hose source

I don’t know why this vacuum issue escapes me. Alamo Toyota tells me they use a common over the counter hose (U.S. standard size) and two Japanese specialty shops here in town tell me they only use Toyota OEM hose and swear it makes a difference.

I ran into big problems with an ’86 FJ60 with the 2F when it came to vacuum hose. Its hoses were some bizarre metric size that didn’t quite match anything from my local O’Reily’s or Autozone. The hoses were either too small and I really had to cram them on or too loose thus causing leaks. Obviously an FJ60 is a totally different animal and one can get lost in the miles of vacuum lines so this may be moot point with the FZJ80. The specific hoses I’m looking for are the small ones around the EGR and throttle body.

I found some metric hoses from Wurth. They make hoses I've used on my old BMW and Mercedes. Pretty high quality stuff but I'm not sure of the exact size for Toyota.

The small hose is 3.5mm ID.

It is serviced in 2/3 of a meter and 1 meter lengths

2/3 meter is 90999-92003

1 meter is 90999-92004

It has pre-marked spaces where the original hose number can be applied with a ballpoint pen.

SWEET!

You are right on, Dan. Wurth carries the 3.5mm hose (also works for Honda) and sell it by the meter.
