Need some weber help- Again.

Hey gents,

I'm getting a little frustrated with my Weber Carb

The problem occurs when the secondary's engage- Driving or if you engage them by hand. It appears that the stream doesn't 'sprinkle' when they first open, instead it drops a not-so-steady dribble of gas into the intake- Which causes surging and makes my truck completely impossible to drive unless you mash the throttle, or drive under 45mph.

I've cleaned the carb, I've taken it apart and cleaned everything today, and it still does it.

Are my jets to large? To small? My fuel pressure runs fine, clean fuel, etc, etc.

I fixed this problem once by eliminating the secondary and running off of the primary- The problem is my 37's require a little more 'umph' to move them.

I cant help but lean towards loading up? I would try for the smaller jets but ofcourse I am totally guessing on this one. The main issue I see with this scenario is the primarys are probably small so by not getting to run your secondarys you are probably way worse off than just having a stock carb (not dissing stock carbs they have potential if done right).

Maybe that will help someone,when it changes rpm that is the slightest touch on the linkage. Im flabbergasted that no one i talk to can help!

any other changes prior to this problem? if not could be the accelorater pump diaphragm.

if it doesnt have the stream going into the carb you are looking at a acc. problem or a jet.

If I was you I would look at a jet and while you are in there...........get smaller jets.

I would give Jim C a buzz and see what he thinks.

I gotta say this. Its my own damn fault. My auto choke worked for a very short period of time after I got it, I goofed around and forgot to call weber direct.


You know every day, all seasons on the second crank the runner always starts, runs only a little spudder at start up.

I got a new choke a while back , hell I am wondering , should I even bother? lol

Oh I think I put the weber on in 2009?
