Need some help. Steering wheel and lock issue

So I have a 2003 LC and it sometimes believes the key is still in the ignition after I shut off the car. I also noticed today the door open light kept going on and off while I was driving. I have already replaced the fuse box on the driver's side interior. Any ideas what could be causing this issue?

1. Door Sensor?
2. Key Ignition slot??
3. Door lock motors???
4. Something else????

I'm not a mechanic and my mechanic believed it was the fuse box, so we changed it out. It seemed to work, but after I got it home, the problem persisted.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Was there any evidence of water intrusion or corrosion on the fuse block. With multiple systems being affected I'd point to a junction block or harness somewhere.

No evidence of water intrusion from what I can see and the mechanics have been all over this rig and never mentioned it. Is there a specific area to focus on?

Hmm hard to say. Make sure there are no loose connectors. Those large connectors in the passenger/driver footwell that come from the dash harness, the ones with the bolt, push those in and tighten the bolt to make sure those are not loose
