So my brother got accepted to USC for nursing school last week(anesthetist is his goal). He's starting in January '10 and is moving from Cincy Ohio to Columbia SC. In order to garner residency in time for next year's fall term (and save $$$$), he's realized he's got to find an apartment this week. He's on his way to ATL now to drop of his 2 girls with the grandparents, then he and his wife will head out to Columbia tomorrow.

So which UC/LcC members are Columbia residents? Can you give up some local info on neighborhoods near the college and the local public schools?

reply to this thread or PM me, either way I get an instant email on my phone.

Thanks!!!
Rick

So I've been perusing the Fappr map that Troll posted up last year and doesn't look like anybody in UC/LcC is in Columbia.

Oh well, thanks for reading.:meh:

There are cruiser guys in Cola, just dont know if any of them are ever on here, I think they are kind of sparatic.

I attended the NAC at USC a few years ago and there is a really cool older neighborhood called Shandon, great for graduate students! It's within easy bike commute distance. Hand Middleschool is excellent and there are alot of rentals. Really a great looking good feeling neighborhood.

That is all I know.

I lived north east of the city in a 3 bedroom house with a fenced yard for $850/mo. Nothing is very far in columbia even if you live out side of the "city".

I just joined up with UC and I live in downtown Columbia. I would be happy to give you some info about the area. PM sent.

Cool, thanks. They are now in the midst of packing and moving stuff week by week. My brother's gotta stay in Cincy until he lands a job in Cola. Sounds like a major pain to me.

Nursing. He's got a job at a Cincy hospital now and is trying to cut back to just working weekends (better pay rate) and then moving during the week. He's checking into contract nursing jobs now.

Sorry I haven't been online in a couple weeks. There are a few of us on here in Columbia. I live in town, near USC. If there is anything I can do, send me a PM.
John
