I have been in the process of finding all factory OEM Quality replacement parts through Oriellys. I just get me a replacement Manifold, and have pretty much all the numbers for anything you would need, and locally have become known as the "toy guy".

So if you need that pesky part number just PM me or Post here!

Jlandon

I really didnt know where to post this, hope its in the right section!

Usually decent, I didnt check on how much it cost at a dealer, but my manifold set me back 70ish with all the gaskets and a can of 1200degree black paint. MOst everything else is considerably cheaper especially fan clutchs, dealer quoted me 148 and Oriellys is 48, and Oriellys has a LIfetime warranty!

Carbs run 350-500 NEW
Starters are 40ish
Alts vary by day anymore, usually 50-80

Ill make a master list today and post it 2nite or 2morrow morning.

well I have found that those life time things are real if you want to change it every other month.
NOTHING beats stock, factory, what ever. yeh you may pay twice what it costs at vatozone. may be even three times. but that will be the last time you change that part.
lets talk about parts that have lasted 200,000 300,000 miles.
now lets talk about a non factory u joint that lasted all of 1200 miles and let me down in the middle of a trail.
now lets talk about the factory u joint that I paid 3 times as much for that has lasted 10 years of very hard abuse.

I don't do it any more. I will go to the junk yard for an unknown factory part over a cheap vatozone part.

you will see and learn in less then 6 months.. 1 month if this is your daily driver.

that is like do I want to protect my new 2500.00 motor with a 20 dollar vatozone oil pump or do I want the factory 220.00 dollar factory pump.. I went with the original factory part. The old one lasted and was still good after 240,000 miles.
that is the stuff I am talking about.
so factory I have no worries for anouther quarter of a million miles.
if it is not a toyota part.. it is crap. if it is it will come in a toyota box with a wax paper wrap and will smell like cosmoline.

Missouriman, I do know exactly what you are talking about, infact, I try to recomend the "NEW"OE Style Fit and Function with everything I sell. I can also tell you what you probably have run into is Autozones poor craftsman ship and extremely low prices. Oriellys have run into the same thing in a ton of cases. I test all the Alts and Starters I sell before they even leave the store, if one has a noisey brush or bearing I warranty it out immeaditely. I have noticed things they make alot of, like old Small Block Chevy Parts always go out faster than things they make a few of, like Toyota Alts.

I will agree Factory is, and will remain, the best thing anyone could make.
Whoelse makes starters that last 3XX,XXX miles, or altenators that never quit?

As for a master list, I had 5pages front and back completely full and hadnt even got through Air Conditioning. Which is the first thing in alphebetical order.

Altough Oriellys, NAPA, Autozone, or anyother parts house may not have the quality you desire, they usually have it instock and you have options on what you want price and quality wise.

An example is Birfields, if your to cheap to go longs this may help you out. I believe its around 50 dollars a side. Maybe cheaper for the short side. They have a lifetime warranty, no questions asked.

And to some this up, there is one brand I prefer of factory. MOOG. Talk about pride in your work, my store has only warrantied one part this year from them. It was a tie rod that I watched a guy sit his truck on a boulder with. It was bent all awry, and Oriellys handed him a new one. NO questions asked.

I do not know how the dealer does warranties, i do know i was dissapointed to pay 80 some dollars for a fan that is already cracked and they won tdo anything about it. The bad part is I have honestly done NO wheelin since i put it on.

Anywho, Time to go haul some straw and make lots of money to waste on my truck:flipoff2:

what I am interested in is a smokin deal on starter copper contacts. Never will I trade in my high quality Nippon Denso starter with worn out serviceable copper contacts for a jacked up busted AFTMKT starter.

say the truck is an 89/22RE...

the way I look at it, brushes for the armature and contacts are two totally different parts. I would be interested in both parts though.

the contacts are L shaped, and are part of the solenoid. the positive hooks to one, and the other is wired to the motor. a when the electromagnet is energized it pulls down a plunger which contacts the, well, contacts.
