Hi folks, I am asking for your help with a little problem I am having finding parts for my fj 55. I am on the fence as to whether I should build/restore or trade / sell for a bj60. any help would be greatly appreciated. my email is two_corks@telus.net, or phone 250-719-0243 and ask for Rod.

speaking of fj55's, did anyone here buy the one that was close to hwy 91 where it goes over the railway tracks? I've been eyeing it for the last four years and it recently dissapeared. (Sorry for the hijack)

I have a complete 1971 fj55. Motor did run last I saw it, main bearings are pooched tho. Some fibreglass work on front fenders, roofs rotting out, rear window is stuck 1/2 open.
Tons of reciepts from original owner, brand new window seals in original toyota packaging.
Spare hood and a door, bunch of other misc. electrical parts n stuff.
Has an f engine, offenhauser intake, weber carb, header, and I think mini-truck power steering. Some kind of bucket seats as wel, Celica I think. Drum brakes all around, which had been completey rebuilt years ago but probably need it again 'cuz its been sitting so long.
I don't have any current pictures, its been in hiding at a friends acreage in Powell River for 5 or so years since I last saw it, so no idea what shape its in now.
I am the second owner, original owners drove it to Guatemala a few times. There were tears shed when i drove it away.
Had big plans, but who knows when or if I'd ever get around to doing anything.

Hi Rod
I have interior bits and misc parts from about a dozen 55's of various years
Sheet metal is limited to a few decent doors, small sheet metal bits, and a hood
some misc glass too

I'm still looking for one worth restoring (for the wife). But, I'm slowly giving up hope of finding one worth doing

Post up what you need. There are two '55's at the wreckers down here and I'll be in B.C. in the summer of 2008. One of the '55's at the wreckers here even has barn doors!!

Hey Rod,
nice to see you made it on here, post up some pics of the beast!
Cheers,
Deny

Barn doors? Nice, no annoying rear window problems then! What year where those available on?
Are you going to save those piggies Cruiser_Guy?

The barn doors are on a later model one with the long tail lights, I'm not sure of the year. I might be bringing them back for someone next summer. I'll be snapping some pictures when I'm out at the wreckers next time. As for saving the piggies, I've already got a project here with the FJ45LV. I don't need another one. Maybe when the FJ45LV is finished but not till then and the '45 is at least a year or more away.

Hey Steve,
As soon as you dig those boxes of 55 parts out I'll be over to see if you've got any of the stuff on the list I sent you a while back.
I'll call you next week and we can set up a time or you can let me know on here.
