i've searched all over and i cant seem to find a late model 22re efi harness pinout. i'm new to this forum so i apologize if i'm an idiot and just not looking in the right places.

here is the story. i have a 1986 pickup that i am just about done doing an efi swap on. i've done all i can and now i'm just down to the wiring. i've put the entire engine harness on and ran the three connector efi harness into the cab where i am going to mount the ecu. my goal is to make a "stand alone" harness and splice into the existing 22r cab harness. i've done an egr delete aswell. i'm using the tail light and engine harness from my donor truck which is a 1990 2wd. i've also swapped fuel tanks as i need the in tank fuel pump and ect. its my daily so i'd like the fuel gauge to work also. i need to see a ecu pinout of a late model 22re so i can figure out what wires i need to splice in. correct me if i'm wrong but i am going to need 12v constant, a switched 12v from the ignition, and a ground. also should i use the original 22r harness for the headlights wipers ect? this truck is my daily and need to get it back on the road pronto so any information is appreciated, thanks!

look over on yotatech, I'm sure I've seen that info there. I had this, see if it makes sense

heres where i'm at. my truck is an 1986 22r 4x4. i took the engine and engine harness and ecu out of a 1990 22re 2wd. engine harness comes into the cab through the hole i drilled and i plugged the three connectors into the ecu. i need to know whats the best way to go about this. im combining the 1990 engine harness with the 1986 cab harness. hopefully someone has done this before and can help. there is two connectors above the other three that go into the ecu. i' m assuming those are things like head lights, wipers, start signal wires and ect. should i splice into the dash harness after these two plugs? i am honestly desperate at this point and any help would be appreciated.

Here is the link for the service manuals. It has a 1990 and a 85 and 87. The 87 should be an exact match for your 86. The pin outs will be in there.

Make sure to save this link here. It is a google link of a toyota specific search engine. I'm sure there is plenty of good stuff out there if you start digging.

Wiring blows, plain and simple. I wish I could be of more help, but I try and stay away from it as much as possible. I have a trailer that has a short in it somewhere and it's kicking my ass.

i am an electrician and wire houses all day and let me tell you wiring a house and wiring a truck are two totally different things haha. but thanks for the help! really appreciate it.

those plugs are for things like the oil pressure, water temp gauge, check engine light, ac clutch, ac amp, starter but not headlights or wipers. those are fed through the fenders. I don't have exactly what you need except I do have a 92 pickup 22re and I swapped the 22re for a 3rz in my 85 4runner http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=97722.0 I don't know where you are located but if its socal you can look at my 92 if you need to

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I'm in southeast ct so that's a little too far. I've pulled all the loom off the 22re harness and I am bout to attempt making a stand alone engine harness while using the 86 cab harneas for the lights wipers and ect.
