Hi all, i'm looking to get a new used toyota extra cab 4x4, i'v owned two fj40's and an 1987 4runner with 22re, never owned a truck with a 3.0 v6 before, I found a truck and wanted you guys to look at the add and tell me what ya all think

i'm going to look at this afternoon, add say the most of it, except mileage witch is 200,000 but the owner says drivetrain has around 15,000 with all RECEIPTS, and he's the orginal owner, he's asking 5k.

let me know if you guy think if its too high of an asking price or sounds par for the course...

It is more then book value.
look it over.
ask if it was recalled for the head gaskets and when.
there should be a sticker on the door some where.
looks like a clean truck.

3.0 had a head gasket recall.
but if they have been good for 200k I would not worry to much.

take 5 with you and offer 4 cash.
go from there.

look at some of the things it has.
if it is spray on professional bed liner +600.00
if all the work under it looks good and solid +800.00
bumper and lights +500.00
electic locker I would put another+ 400.00
if you have it and want it get it.

Read much? 15000 on the engine...negates all the recall stuff right there! 5 grand is too much unless it's exactly what you want, with no mods. 3500 tops.

I looked at it, its super clean, it has a spray in bed liner, all RECEIPTS, k&n air intake (smog legal) flow master exaust with new cat, he sed it has a 1" lift but looks like a 2" maybe, 32" tires, motor, it clean , receipt for top end rebuild, he paid something like $2200 for all the work, new cv boots and bearings, he sed he rarely took it off road( i don't know how much of that i buy, butttt?!?!) he was a 30 something surfer , all the receipts eather had his name or his uncle's name on then and they go back to 94, zero rust, car fax says all clean( car fax was pulled on the truck in jan 2010 so last month) price!?!?!? ya kinda high on price, but i think it clean enuff... so i think i might grab it, wish me luck?!

Sounds like a clean deal, I would say do it, and if the motor gives you trouble swap in a 22RE.

yes it all done, i have all the receipts to prove it, run great, drives great, small things to fix hear and there but all in all i think it good, i'll post pic soon, oh ya i got it. $4500.

thanks guy's! ya i'm really happy, I was a little unsure but after talking to my brother about getting a truck with so many mile and and having no one to go with me to look at it, I took it to a friend to look and drive the truck who kinda knows more about these trucks then I do, he was amazed how well it shifted, how solid it felt, and how clean, he was all over it, so I know it's going to be a good and fun truck, they just told me with this motor and this kind of truck you really need to be up to date on all the maintenance and i should be fine, so soon as i start modding it i'll keep ya all in the loop.
