I've sourced a frame fro my 60 out of Arizona but am having a bit of a hard time getting it here. Plus a rear lift gate and the frame bolt on components.

Anyone know of a good company that won't kill me on the cost for shipping?

I don't have to have them bring it over the boarder, just to Lynden would be fine and I can pick it up from there. (I have relatives who live in Lynden WA)

Much thanks

shipping is going to kill the deal , with the price of fuel these days do you think any one is going to give you a break on shipping , they will probably cube the frame it will have to shipped unloaded reloaded and unloaded more than once , there may be sur charges because of the awkwardness of the item being shipped and if its greasy or dirty it will be turned away carelessness by shippers recievers and forkilft drivers may result in damages wich wont be covered as you will be shipping it uncrated .

i would guess the shipping costs to be around $800 to $1200 , and that may be on the low side you have to realize that this will probably go thru at least two possibly three carriers , before it gets too your relatives in lynden , and will they be picking it up for you or is it going to be delivered to thier residence , another fee residental delivery charge :( .

would you not be better off buying a running one on the cheap and driving it up and parting it out ?

or try and find a frame localy ?

Already on Mudship, Vacation's already planed and unfortunatly it's not to Arizona otherwise I would go get it. I worked out the cost to drive down and get it and it's about the same as the shipping would be, would be a fun road trip though.

Kevin, who's got a rock solid, desert only 20+ year old frame for sale around here that's 98% rust free? If there is one, I'd sure like to know about it. There are other items too that I'd like to get from the guy with the frame but of course they are all contingent on getting them at a resonable price. So far the shipping isn't totally a deal breaker as I'll still be saving about $650 versus buying a frame from Steve at EBI (if that 60 frame is still available) as well as the rear lift gate I'm getting. But we'll see. I would consider buying a socal rig and driving it up and parting it out, but I don't really have a shop or the tools to strip it all down. Might be the only way though, we'll have to wait and see.

I've got a few irons in the fire on the shipping, I just thought someone here may have some other leads, like "I know a guy who does a run down to XYZ who may be able to help you out for $$$"

A buddy is going to be shipping his 308GT from LA to Victoria later this summer. It's going to be crated, so building room in the crate for a frame isn't out of the question. He said it's cool with him. You'd need to get it to Los Angeles and pick it up in Victoria (or maybe Vancouver), but it's not impossible if you want to look at that. I can get a ballpark for you if you're interested.

rod , i will enquire for you , i know a few drivers ( i am one ) but i only drive localy these days it could be possible , i do know a few guys that work for companies that run south i will ask away for you :) .

it may take a while , i did manage to get a 20' ocean kayak shipped from port hardy to vancouver for free for a good friend of mine , but it took me a while to set it up , it went thru two carriers one i worked for and one that did ocasional buisiness with the company i used to work for , no guarantee's though ;)

it did have a few scratches on it  .

It's here!

Well, I've gotten my new/old frame at my house now. It was picked up in Arizona on Monday night and I met the driver in Ferndale, took 2 friends with me and we put it up on top of my truck.

Everything I've read and heard is that these frames weigh about 600lbs. This is not the case at all. I'm guessing (but I'm going to weigh it to verify) it's about 275-300 lbs at the most.

Anyway, the shipping was about 3x's the price of the frame but in the end I've gotten a very good deal on all the parts I just picked up (new liftgate too).

The border was as easy as if I bought a pair of jeans at the outlet center. Gave them my paypal receipt and they charged me the tax. They didn't even go out to the truck to see what the "auto parts" were. Honestly the border was the easiest part of getting this stuff here.

The shipping broker I used was Shippingfreight.com, Inc. - Trucking , Freight , and Shipping Company. and that went well too. I'd highly recommend Dave if you need stuff shipped from the US (I did arrange for pick up to be in WA though, I'm sure that helped).
His price was WAY less than the 4 other companies I contacted.

Anyway, here's a pick of the frame up on my roof rack, sort of looks goofy having a frame up there.

Thanks for those who offered to help me arrange some shipping. Much appreciated!
