Currently trying to figure out where to mount my 60inch hi-lift jack, asking for suggestions. I do not have a rear swing-out bumper and don't plan on adding one, going for a little more of a high clearance rear. Maybe inside somewhere or make some short of bent tube on rear with hinges? No clue so any ideas would help! I think I'm avoiding roof due to the truck is already top heavy on 40s and a 6inch lift.

Possiby mounting on the hood or front bumper?? If you mounted on the hood youd probably need to pick up some stronger struts. I dont have experience with either method but have seen it done plenty of times on various rigs

I plan on mounting mine on the front ARB on the top hoop that already has the mounting holes, but only when wheeling unless I can figure out a lock system. I have the IPOR rear bumper but the mount on it is not ideal. I got stuck once on an incline and the spare was practically on the ground and I was unable to get to the jack so needless to say it doesnt stay there anymore. Now it just hangs out inside along the tailgate. Maybe a mount on the tailgate would work.

Oops, pasted into wrong thread. Disregard.

I wasn't sure about the quick fist clamps but used them on my last trip and was super impressed. Held my High Lift and a shovel. Post up some pics when you figure out your spot.

Many moons ago, when I still had a roof rack, I mounted it to the ConFer rack. There were 3/8" cad plated bolts on the inside that were flush against one side of the bolt head. The rack held the bolt so I can use a large wingnut to hold the hi-lift on. It was perfect, out of the way, easy to get to, secure.

I mounted mine on the top roof rack also. Attached to the front bumper and bump a tree or anything else it could be damaged, also if you get deep in mud or go through bumper high water you would have to clean it all the time or make it inaccessible. I will always have access to mine up top near the hatch wing, I can just put down the tailgate and remove it.

That was always my thinking. I needed it accessible. Of course since then its mounted on my rear bumper which requires me to remove the freaking tire to get to the hi-lift. Thats dumb.

After years in the jeep world I upgraded to my 80, and never understood anyone mounting the hi-lift up on the hood. Imagine being stuck, way off camber, and getting that clumsy thing off of the hood without damaging the hood.. Mine is so well used that it has developed a slight bend and I always mounted it as high and as handy to get to as possible.. Top of your ARB front bumper, or up top on your rack are by far the two best places.. Now I have a swing out Slee rear bumper with hi-lift mount and very easy to get at.. As you decide where you will mount it, always consider the " worst case scenario".

I've only seen one time a hilift was ever used. If I'm with a group of trucks, at least one is brought along, otherwise its a snatch strap every time.

By yourself - always bring it with.

Id think on your roof rack with the hilift holders. Nice 80 btw

I think you should get a 3/4 rack and have someone make you a custom mount for it along with whatever else you wanna throw up there :smokin:

Shameless Plug, Mr Subliminal? ;)

I'd do the same given the circumstances.....

It's all good!

Here's the rig, don't think it would work on my front bumper

You can attach it to that bullbar no problem, but will need to remove to work on engine. And mount it so the horn faces out can lead to some unwanted contusions....
