Y'all seem to come up with some screaming deals on stuff so if'n anyone comes up with a '92 - '95 GM NV4500 please let me know. I'm not in too big a hurry yet (cuz I'm broke after buying the engine and misc. parts). I won't be starting the swap 'til after the trip to Disney in October with Green Country Cruisers.

Thanks for the help,
Mike

Is that the same SM420 I sold you for $50 for the beater? :flipoff2:

I've not decided on the t-case yet, but it'll probably be an Orion HD since the Atlas II's don't come with a rear driver's side rear output..... That said, if I can come up a screamin' deal on D44 or D60 rear I'd get the Atlas II and be done with it.

With dhondagod as your 'second' pair of eyes, it shouldn't take long to come up with a good deal.

Good luck.

What's wrong with the cruiser axel and a center t-case rear output?

you can spin around the housing of the 40 and bolt it all back on. It might not be the D-shaft 100% straight but it's angle will be closer than running the 40 rear in its current position.

According to Daryl minor work it's required to get the 3rd in. The Arkansas boys have done it and it works.

I am kind of heading that way. They are running SM465 and 205 combos w/ 40's spun rear axels. Daryl(wannabecruien) knows all about it. he could give you more details.

I found 'im one Jason!! :grinpimp:

Bunch a perverts:lol:

No wonder I like it sooo much around here!

Yep - Domek is right. Not too much to running a centered rear t-case with just a little work on the stock rear housing. Also, two of my AR buds just did a centered rear using a cruiser center section and mini outers. Way cool and super easy. Another way to go...

Is there much drive-line vibration on the road with the drive-shaft being angled? Can you take a couple of pics for me.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry Mike - been kinda busy. I'll try to snap some pics for you. No, vibes are not bad on the road even with homemade driveshafts on the two rigs we have running them - 3-4 years and no issues. Remember, the early 60's fj40 had the reverse of this issue running offset t-case with centered rear housing (I've got one of them if you want to go that route) and they had no issues either.

Oh! That kind of trans! Let the double entenders begin!

Why do these kind of desires seem more prevalent in those who have been affiliated with law enforcement?
