Need decision making help - 85 Straight Axle 22r 4x4 vs 75 series Land Cruiser Pickup?

I would go with the 1985. They will retain their value being the last year of the solid axle domestically and the spring over axle will do much better than a land cruiser offroad.

Thanks LN106!
I know i will get one eventually...it's on my dream car list :)

Have a good rest of your week! :)

Cheers,
Kevin

Just to clear things up, the Tacoma can come with a 2.4 (2RZ) the 2.7 (3RZ) or 3.4 (5VZ). All of those engines will get to and maintain highway speeds in a stock truck with no problem. My 94 4runner with the 22re and 30ish inch tires was a speed demon compared to my 81 pickup with the 22r and 31 inch tires. Are you determined to go with a standard cab? If not, there are plenty of extended cab tacomas around. Also, there isn't any reason to go with the 85 exclusively unless you are going to wheel it hard. All of the 2nd gen trucks are solid vehicles.

Agreed, they're great trucks. Get the best value single cab '86-'95 you can find.

I actually like the looks of the 1st generation single cab Tacomas, but they're more difficult to find at a good price. Most owners want stupid money for them.
