Need advice for 2007 With 23,000 miles.

There is no comp in the country that is going to make an insurance company pay out 3.5 book value for a 100 series. I tried to get collector car coverage on my built 100, since it'd cost me about $17-18K to replace (not counting my labor!), and a few of the companies told me to pound dirt, they don't insure SUVs ... and the others have such restrictive use policies that they are worthless.

You aren't goint to have an issue finding a comp WAY above your example for an 07 with low mileage. Nice try using low ball numbers. Low mileage 06-07s 100s have comps well into the mid to upper 20s all day long.

He still needs to spend at least another $2000-$3000 (TB/WP/Fluids and Tires/alignment) on maintenance on top of whatever he paid unless the PO was as anal as one of us and kept it updated even with the low mileage.

If it's bought for low mileage and kept a low mileage, it's good otherwise any miles put on would depreciate the truck significantly. My only concern would be if ever got in any accident (back to normal book value....regardless of mileage "IF" he could find a buyer) or in case if it got totaled or stolen, a big fight with the insurance company (been there and done that)

If money is not an issue, than by all means it's as good as it can get.

You are absolutely right, I spoke to the value without checking. NADA on a clean 2007 with 23K miles is $24K. That's the base $18K plus a $6K bump for miles. Still not $37K. That would be an ugly fight with the insurance company.

I have an '06 100, and have rented LX570's during trips to Costa Rica - Although the 570 offers additional space and power, it just isn't as easy to drive in the mountains. I prefer the 100 over the 570 any day. Given an opportunity to buy a very low mileage '06-'07 100, I would do the same in a heartbeat. I travel on back roads more often than interstates, and I feel more connected to the road in a 100.

Congrats on the purchase! Post some Pics!

Care to elaborate how the 570 has additional space and power?

I don't know about space but if you have not driven that motor it is hard to understand how much more power!

It is a beast of a motor. Almost 6 liters, 380 hp and a relatively flat torque curve

Yeah I had a Tundy with it and I still have the 4.7liter Tundy too and the difference is AWESOME to say the least!
Also the big motor gets better mileage!

So it seems like a dream to have an LC with that motor but I am pretty satisfied with my LC as it is what it is regardless of the motor.

Most recent trip - packed 6 adults and luggage into the 100 for the hour drive to the airport - three adults in center row, one in the back jump seat. Luggage stacked in back to the ceiling in all available space with smaller bags on laps. Grumpy adult kids with no room in center row to spread out. I can't say the 100 was "under-powered", as didn't feel comfortable pushing it as overloaded and "wallowly" as it felt...

Arrive in San Jose - Loaded the same luggage and people into a LX570 - still packed in back to the ceiling with luggage, but none on laps. Center row passengers much happier - seemed wider to them and to me - drove 2+ hours through the mountains to the coast, plenty of power on the hills and none of the overloaded feeling of the 100.

Just my seat of the pants judgement....
