NavUnit Aux input question 01/02 & after

Looking into a LC and had a few questions on the Nave Units, 01/02 & after.

- on the 01/02 nav units is there any way to hard wire in an aux. input for an IPOD, MP3 playeretc?

- how about 03 and after.

This is a major issue for me given on the nav cars I would be basically locked into the factory entertainment set-up forever.

FM modulators and wires hanging out of the tape deck are just un-acceptable for me, as well as losing the changer given there is no single load tray.

You could hardwire an FM modulator, but the quality still sucks.

Best way I've seen for any year model is the vaistech.com products.

I just heard back from their website that they have AUX/ipod controlls for the LX470, but not the LC. Very odd, no?

Making me steer clear of the 01/02 NAV integrated unit. At least you can add an Aux port from 03 on.
