Just thought I would start a new thread to talk wrenching and tech sessions. If anybody wants to get together and wrench post up here.

Hey I will be passing thru on wednesday and thursday. I can see if I can get by if no one else has by then. Only bad thing is it will have to be early or late.

Let me know.

As for wrenching, my rig ('96 lx450) needs old man emu caster bushings pressed in, and a rear Aussie locker installed. The locker is already in the housing from Trail Teams' 80 series, as he regeared and I got the gears/locker together. Guess it's just a plug and play once I get he diff cover off?

I'm down for a session in the next couple if weeks... And can help if someone needs a hand as well.
Cheers, Joel

Sean, I know that 80 has been on and off CL since September/August last year. I know a buddy of mine called about it, however I'm not sure if he looked at it. I'll see what info he remembers about it.

Thanks guys, i'm wondering what's up with the truck now being listed for so long. Here's what i know.

-3rd owner, 2nd owner highway miles, just turned over 200k, 2nd owners divorced which is how it landed into 3rd owner (co-worker).
-has stained carpet and crack in WS, waiting for pics to see how bad
-just now got pics of under carriage, looks pretty good, not rusty, basically in decent shape, knuckles not spewing oil/grease. see slight oil leak on center of front axle near dif area.

the more i look and talk about it the more un-interested i get. The owner said things like "all it needs is carpet shampoo" or "you can get a new WS for $200". Not sure i beleive that stuff. i'll wait until i get better pics of the inside and let you know.

Joel, we can do that diff in an afternoon, with the 35's we won't even have to jack it up. Pull shafts, drain fluid, unbolt and drop the old one, install new one, reinstall shafts, top off with fluid. Done. Could do it and the bushings in a day I'm sure. Of course based on how well things tend to go when I work on them, you may not want my help. I always get them finished, but tend to take the looonnngggg way around sometimes, usually not by choice. :meh:

Lol, would be fun either way ! Wrenching with other people is the idea , solo style while your 4 year old watches you get greasy is not ideal...

Ok, fellas, weather is getting warmer! Who is down for a wrenching day soon? I just need to do fluids PM and the Aussie locker in my 80 before GSMTR, and really want to build an aluminum ATV ramp roof rack, but the roof rack might have to wait, we will see. Who is down for a session?

Cheers, joel
