Recently I got the cruiser up and running and in the process made more than a few trips to NAPA...especially to return the wrong part:bang:

Some good did come out of it though. I was able to divert a little of my business from $OR to the local guys. I like helping out the local businesses especially while saving on shipping. Anyway, here is what I found. Might be of some help to somone.

39478 - $101 Brake Master Cylinder for 75-80 with front disc. Brand new and came with both reservoirs and switches. Fit prefectly....no issues.

94038 - $16 Front shocks. They have the same length and stroke as the Bilsteins BE5-6251-H5 (12"-18"). Their book shows them as air shocks but they are not. Really helped for getting it on the road until I decide what I am ultimately going to do about suspension/lilft etc...

7-205 - $18 800 Series Saginaw Pitman shaft seal kit.

Like I said, maybe this will of some help to someone.

I'd so much rather help the local businesses! Don't get me wrong, the big guys have the parts....but there's something to be said for buying local.

Thanks for the part numbers!!

I agree ColoCruiser. The big guys are good for the hard to find stuff but it's the local guys that are there when you really have that emergency. The local guys also let you fondle the parts :) The thing that really kills me is that "shipping and handling" fee from the big guys!!!

JohnnyC, I hear ya!! I ended finding a "mom & pop" Napa about 20 miles from the house in a little town that I pass on the way to work. Those guys are by far the most helpful and willing to dig. They got the master cylinder in two days from Atlanta when the other Napa said it would take a week b/c it was coming from cali!!! They also looked for the Saginaw seal kit without needing to know what year my truck was. If the other guys would just look in the book they would realize that all the 800 series boxes used the same kit. Hey, I used to live in the Albany area. I was in Clifton Park for a year....man I miss Clifton Park Pizza - that place was awesome!!!

It matters where you are located. The NAPA in Atlanta is the biggest bunch of assholes I have ever met. I hate to have to go there. Get treated like I am an idiot every time. What sucks is you know they have the damn parts behind the counter you need but the jerk behind the counter does not want to even help you or knows less than I do and that is scary. At least at SOR/MAF they know what they heck they are talking about when you do call them. Can you tell I am fired up about NAPA. We have multiple accounts around town at various parts suppliers, but the small town old guy is def. the best, but not the cheapest.

funny thing is NAPA Headquarters is in Atlanta :)

you should pay them a visit

I go to the largest distribution center/store they have I believe and bc I do not buy thousands of dollars of parts from them the could give a s***. If I break nasty and start giving s***, they will get one of the good guys out who is an old timer and he gets me what I need.
