My fiancee and I are off today for a week on Vancover island
from Sept 6th to the 15th.

If I see any cruisers around I will take some pics for Mud.

Nanaimo suburb from 6th to 8th
Campbell river 8th to 10th
Port Mcniell 10th to 12th
The old growth forrest in Port Alberni on the 13th

I'm hoping to see a nice selection especially 40's 45's 42's

Cheers

My BJ42 is in the garage, just finishing up tcase rebuild, should have it on the ground when you get here. If you want to do a few trails I cold take you out.

PS this is more chat, go the the VI cruiser forum..this will more likely get moved.

I am just off the highway Horne Lake turn off working on the cabin for the weekend if you take the old highway on your way to Campbell River I may pass you on the way into Qualicum for my coffee and lumber supplies.
I only have one of my Cruisers over here this year took the rest of them back to the mainland to do some work on them and TLC.

By the way what one are driving.

Its kind of sad this year I have only seen one LC its a Reddish 40 in Qualicum I have seen it a couple of times over the last couple of years have not seen any 60's , last year I saw several 60s from Nanaimo to Qualicum where did they all go.

Once I retire and move over there I will add a strong LC presence with my fleet maybe by then I will have some more added to my 8 currently.

Lots of touring in a rental. Chyrysler, :(
Heading to Quadra island today,
We saw a white bj70 in Campbell river yesterday on the road, and a for sale 40 south of Campbell r .
We could try to meet up on the return from quadra island tonight or after port McNeill on the Friday some time in Campbell river or somewhere on route.
Yes , kinda dissapointing not seeing many cruisers out there being in this rust free area !
Living in the past I guess !
My daily is the bj60 with my 83 bj42 in the garage awaiting motor mounts.
Trying to balance quality time with the woman and my cruiser addiction.
Lol.
Texting or a call will work , I have long distance.
I'm Thinking of dropping by Radd Cruisers I. Duncan Friday afternoon or if anyone wants to do wings in Nanaimo fri. Eve. After 7pm. Somewhere let me know.
My friends in the area have a bj42 currently not on the road and new to the island.
Cheers

Geez, if you want to see 60 series in Nanaimo/Ladysmith just go to Home Depot or other building and supply places. I was home for August and was surprised at the number of them around town. I know of at least 6 that are seen regularly.
Too bad I am away, I left a fridge full of beer....

Great trip to the island !
Unfortunately seeing some 40's is quite rare.
purple 73 fj40 for sale just south of Campbell River on 19a, it looked to have a hurst shifter in it.
A few 70 series here and there including some Prado's.
My friends beige 82bj parked for now.
We took advantage of some great seafood and sight seeing though there is so much more to see.
Possibly next year with a little more time and possibly my 45 or 60 to drive around while there ?
Cheers
