Anyone know what this 70 series part is and why it's on the exhaust?

Is one end rubber? Looks like an exhaust hanger ,but not a 70 series type.

Rubber mounted block.

It is a anti vibration rubber mounted block to stop exhaust pipe rattle. Clever little Japs.

My '94 80 series had the same thing on the resonator at the end of the exhaust, but my '90 FJ75 does not have it.

I was looking at my dads 73 scratching my head at it for a bit. I came up with the same hypothesis.
Clever japs is right.
