Alternator comes in and goes out to starter solenoid (per my mechanic).

That would be a "junction block", and since it is +, quite the electrical fire hazard with no cover.

Not a standard Toyota part, I would guess.

Is that the thing your mechanic says is corroded? Looks like it just needs a new pair of nuts. Brass nuts will not corrode again in the future.

I can get a new one of these for $30 it looks like, with a cover, which may be the way to go. Thanks for the relies gentlemen.
