Over the weekend, Gary, Ruwi, & Bill took a run up the Nahatlatch Valley and later returned via the Kookipi FSR. No this is not one of Gary's vehicles. The fire lookout is intact & in good shape...

Ruwi cooks a mean BBQ pork backribs and there's nothing better out in the bush.
The Kookipi Pass is changing colour now and the creeks are flowing again...

The northern Kookipi is quite drivable, although there are a lot of new bumpy cross ditches. The Fire Service was
up there this summer and graded the road. Further south there are no cross ditches on the way down. The E. Harrison
road is in very good shape. Logging is going on and some run-of-the-river projects.
More pictures to follow...

Here's Ruwi on the trail.
And here's a wrecked vehicle by the E. Harrison sand hill.

If you can identify the make and model, I'd have a frog
in my coffee and throat!

hmm, I can't seem to quote your pictures, Bill. I'd say the burnt out shell looks like a Dodge Caravan

Ruwi's truck looks like my 81's twin. Interesting where your hawse is mounted, don't think I've seen it in that position before. Usually the hawse and license plate are reversed. Ruwi, has it worked out ok for you?

Anyway, nice you guys snuck in a trip before it all goes sideways here!

When did you get that tent Ruwi, and what is it?
Last week. A guy from Squamish. An outdoor sports guy who is going into RTT business. The rails and cross pipes convinced me as I need one for solar panel and ski/board racks during Winter. He started only last Summer and has two demo units at discount prices. He will soon launch his web Cadia outfitters. Tried last weekend and happy with it.

This is my 2nd set up out of that modified Ramsey winch mount. The first one was steel cable set up with roller/fairlead. Now with synthetic rope/hawse, this is the best set up I could come. No actual field use yet but did some dry run in and out and seems to be fine. One day I will find out in an actual recovery):

Yes, Norm, I have a prize for you at the meeting next week.

Very cool. I was up at the lookout on Monday. First time there; it's a pretty cool place and drive. Nice pics.

Can’t believe that silver van is still there. Was there when we went through a month ago.
